I am due to travel to mexico (starting in mexico city and finishing in cancun) at the beginning of June, should I go ahead because the flights (american airlines) and the tour (contiki) have not yet been cancelled therefore I would not be able to get a refund. I also have not yet got travel insurance, if the flights and tour cancels will I get a refund? I booked through STA travel and they are ATOL protected. I have contacted STA and they are giving me very little info! PLease please help as I am really worried!Also do you think doctors would prescribe me tamiflu as a preventative medication or is there anywere I could buy it? Just booked a flight from NYC to Toronto, Canada. It says the plane is operated by American Eagle. 1. When i go to the airport, JFK, should I go to the American Airlines terminal? 2. My father is flying from England to Spain tomorrow, he has prescription eye-drops that he would prefer to carry in his hand-luggage or on his person rather than pack in his suitcase in case it gets lost. What are the European air-travel rules nowadays about liquid medicines in hand-luggage? Does everything still have to be in clear zip-topped plastic bags? There's lots of info on the 'net about American regulations and the TSA, but it's not clear about European airlines. This is a tiny bottle about half the size of a matchbox, it is the only liquid that he will take onto the plane, can he just put it in his pocket or does he have to declare it to someone? I tried to explain that Michigan was an hour ahead of Illinois, but she could not understand the concept of time zones. Finally I told her the plane went very fast, and she bought that! A woman called and asked, "Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage belongs to who?" I said, "No, why do you ask?" She replied, "Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my luggage that said FAT, and I'm overweight, is there any connection?" After putting her on hold for a minute while I "looked into it" (I was actually laughing) I came back and explained the city code for Fresno is FAT, and that the airline was just putting a destination tag on her luggage. I just got off the phone with a man who asked, "How do I know which plane to get on?" I asked him what exactly he meant, which he replied, "I was told my flight number is 823, but none of these darn planes have numbers on them. A woman called and said, "I need to fly to Pepsi-cola on one of those computer planes." I asked if she meant to fly to Pensacola on a commuter plane. She said, "Yeah, whatever." A businessman called and had a question about the documents he needed in order to fly to China. After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded him he needed a visa. "Oh no I don't, I've been to China many times and never had to have one of those." I double checked and sure enough, his stay required a visa. When I told him this he said, "Look, I've been to China four times and every time they have accepted my American Express." A woman called to make reservations, "I want to go from Chicago to Hippopotamus, New York." The agent was at a loss for words. Finally, the agent: "Are you sure that's the name of the town?" "Yes, what flights do you have?" replied the customer. After some searching, the agent came back with, "I'm sorry, ma'am, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a Hippopotamus anywhere." The customer retorted, "Oh don't be silly. Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!" The agent scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, "You don't mean Buffalo, do you?" more

Okay so my best friend and I have wanted to go to Tokyo for years and now we might be going Spring Break...if we do it while she's still 18 we can get really good discounts on the flight because her stepdad works for delta airlines... I recently flew in from LAX to Minneapolis/St. Paul Intl. airport, and my dad and I had to catch the puddle jumper (the dinky little planes made to travel thirty minute flights) back home. Unfortunately, the flight was cancelled NOT because of the weather, but because one of the runways were closed down. The airline representatives were of no help whatsoever, and so we went to the info desk. We told him our story, and he says, "Well, that's a load of bull-crap". We buy bus tickets to get back. Later on, we find out that the airport had been pulling this crap for the past three days. Many old women and mothers with children had been stranded there in that duration, too. Pretty soon, up to fourteen people ask my dad how the hell they were to get out of the airport. There was this one from Columbia that was supposed to catch a flight to Madison, WI to attend medical school, and he told my dad "You're the nicest American I've met so far" after my dad gave him directions.So anyway, why have airlines stopped giving a crap about their passengers? I just booked a flight from DAY (Dayton, OH) to LAX (Los angeles, CA) via orbitz from the 1st of August to the 17th of the same month.
