Charter Flights Questions asked

Open Question: Charter flights to Belgrade?

Hello, I'm asking if there is any charter flights from Toronto to Belgrade. Some one please answer. more

Resolved Question: Ok, this is bugging me like crazy. Med school or not?

I am really considering getting into med school or at least becoming a chiropractor or an osteopath. I have number of issues that have put me on standstill. First of all is my age, i'm 30, I'll be around 35-36 once qualified. Secondly, I am not sure if i'll be able to cope with all the schooling. From my academic experience i know that i will need a constant "push" to study. I find it very difficult to self motivate and need just about constant inspiration. ( any advice on fixing that would be great ). Finally, for the past 2 years i have been a pilot for a small charter company and slowly getting sick of it. Competition for jobs is crazy, pay is crap, constant testing and flight checks are driving me nuts. Getting a good flying job is within reach but will take 2 or 3 years but if i'm already getting fed up with is that really the way to go? I think i need a change, becoming a physician, helping others with problems would be very rewarding ( do any doctors have any regrets? ) Is it worth in the end it and can I endure 5 or more years of constant education. Thank you very much for any advice. more

Resolved Question: Are there ANY airlines that have flights from the USA to UK for under $350 a ticket per person?

I need to go to the UK in May but the prices to get there are just outrageous, especially on the big carriers like American, British, Continental, etc. Even the prices on Tuesdays which are usually the cheapest days, the average price seems to be way over $450 per person. Apparently there's charter airlines that go between Canada and the UK for really low fares but I live too far from any major Canadian city to make it worthwhile to drive there. Are there ANY charter airlines between the US and UK with decent prices? All the low cost one's like Fly Globe Span have gone under.I know that US Airways usually has decent rates, I've flown with them before to MAN but they're still asking over $450 for the flight I need with a connection to Philadelphia. more

Resolved Question: a couple of questions about charter jets?

does travel in a charter take longer than in a traditional jet? does the jet stay put when you are at your destination? and if so, do you pay for the lodging/time to the pilot? does the pilot have a co pilot? are animals allowed on board? what would be the best suggested charter company to go through? we will be wanting to take two trips. One from arizona to the bahamas and one from arizona to ireland.our family has had a bad experience with flying on the reg. jet so we prefer to go private (someone died on the flight and two of my family members had panic attacks over it, my other cousin has social anxiety disorder so when she is around a whole bunch of people she just gets nervous) so it would just be more comfortable for all and much more pleasant to take our pvt jet. Also, do you tip your pilots? and if so, how much? more

Resolved Question: do dogs get air sickness on planes?

I will be taking a trip to europe in the near future and I just don't know if I can be away from my dogs for a week long so i am considering taking them with me.However, the flight is very long and I dont think it would be fair to them to be in transportation that long if they are just going to feel ill. my parents were thinking about having all our family have one last 'family get together" in the bahamas (a lot of old members will not be with us next year) and was thinking maybe I should test it out on that flight since it is shorter? its just my dogs are REALLY paranoid and they don't like other people outside the family.I left them with family last time I took a trip to another state for a year and I was just sick to my stomach thinking about them being so far away and sad. They were scared the whole time and didn't eat.My asshole of a cousin was yelling at them because they would cry at night when the lights were off.I just won't be able to have a good time and knowing they will be close and alright. At least on the trip, they would be in the hotel room and I could check on them. The bigger dogs are perfectly fine to stay at the doggy hotel..they love everyone lol. It will be a charter jet, so its not like they will be locked up in a kennel but still....suggestions? more

Resolved Question: I need help with grammar thank you?

Can you fix the grammar in this essay? if the senetence doesnt make sense fix it for me thank you. "From this meeting I have learned great deals about pilot’s responsibilities. Pilots responsibilities are safety of passengers and crew members, seek excellence in airmanship, maintain situational awareness, act with responsibility and courtesy and adhere to applicable laws and regulations. However, from all these responsibilities, safety comes first. From the time the plane is airborne until those three landing gears are back on the runway the work never stops. The Pilot is constantly scanning flight instruments and engine monitoring systems and the surrounding airspace for other airplanes that might pose a risk. Pilot responsibilities vary over a wide spectrum, because there are so many types of piloting situations. An unpaid private pilot flying alone in a single-engine airplane has a responsibility to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and to operate the aircraft in a sensible manner that takes into consideration the safety of the public. From that, adding a passenger or passengers, expands pilot’s responsibilities even more to cover the safety and comfort of the passengers. If you reach the level of flying for an airline or Cargo Company or a major corporate or charter operation, the responsibilities again expand, to include contractual and moral obligations to the company. The pilot must represent the company in a diplomatic and positive light, as well as follow all company policy and also applicable law and regulations. Pilots should be able to recognize all the threats and how to manage those threats. Threats can be divided into two categories; operational threats and environmental threats. Operational threats are aircraft malfunction, ground problems and poor procedures. Environmental threats may consist of weather and ATC and anything that are outside the pilot’s direct control. If the pilot does not recognize these threats, this could lead to errors. Errors can be aircraft handling, such as, poor control of automation, incorrect flap setting and wrong taxi routes. Also, procedural errors like improper checklist usage and weight & balance mistake. Threats come to the pilots; however, errors come from the pilots. So it is important to recognize the threats and react to it as soon as possible, before it leads to errors." more

Resolved Question: Do you foresee Michael Steele's days at RNC Chairman ending very soon?

I don't really see how you can defend this behavior. Going to be hard to spin this as well. What do you think?? Are Steele's days numbered?? http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0210/33324.html Republican National Chairman Michael Steele is spending twice as much as his recent predecessors on private planes and paying more for limousines, catering and flowers – expenses that are infuriating the party's major donors who say Republicans need every penny they can get for the fight to win back Congress. Most recently, donors grumbled when Steele hired renowned chef Wolfgang Puck's local crew to cater the RNC's Christmas party inside the trendy Newseum on Pennsylvania Avenue, and then moved its annual winter meeting from Washington to Hawaii. For some major GOP donors, both decisions were symbolic of the kind of wasteful spending habits they claim has become endemic to his tenure at the RNC. When Ken Mehlman served as the committee chairman during the critical 2006 midterm elections, the holiday party was held in a headquarters conference room and Chic-fil-A was the caterer. A POLITICO analysis of expenses found that compared with 2005, the last comparable year preceding a midterm election, the committee’s payments for charter flights doubled; the number of sedan contractors tripled, and meal expenses jumped from $306,000 to $599,000. more

Resolved Question: Why does the open borders lobby have to say about all this Utah deports illegal aliens criminals ,Harmless?

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) Thousands of illegal or undocumented immigrants live in Utah. While most work and live among without much notice - there are also hundreds of illegal immigrants who also criminals - convicted of felony crimes here in the U.S. The shooting of sheriff's deputy Josie Fox in Millard County is an example of this. She was allegedly killed by an illegal immigrant named Roberto Miramontes Roman. He was convicted of drug dealing and carrying a gun ten years ago and deported not once, but two times. But not all criminal aliens escape the law. ABC 4 News was recently granted exclusive access to the deportation process here in Salt Lake City. We watched several vans loads of criminal aliens from jails and state prisons throughout Utah, Idaho and Montana get unloaded and processed here in Salt Lake City. They were searched - finger printed and locked up in holding cells. Salt Lake City Immigration and Custom Enforcement Field Director Steven Branch says all of the detainees had a "final order of removal" and his agents were doing just that. But these are not just illegal immigrants - they are illegal immigrants who have been convicted of felony crimes - I.C.E. calls them criminal aliens. And Branch says "Over 90 percent of those going out are criminals. They have convictions. Some are serious crimes." Crimes like assault, murder, and drug trafficking. 19 year old Kelvin Navarro was busted for selling crack six month after he came to Utah from Honduras. "Estuve dos meces y media en salt lake, en el carcel." He told me he spent two and half months in jail in Salt Lake. And back home in Honduras - he faces more trouble because he's wanted for rape. All of these illegal immigrants have similar stories. They were busted by local law enforcement agencies then I.C.E. agents "stepped in to make the determination if they are aliens and if they're removable." If they are deportable, they get loaded on a bus for a short trip to Salt Lake International Airport. ABC 4 News was granted exclusive and unfiltered access to the process. Back in early February we were allowed on the tarmac and video taped the criminal aliens go through another search and a shackle and hand cuff check. Then we watched as they took their seat on ICE AIR - a chartered, $80,000, one way flight to the U.S. Mexico border. On the day we were there 41 criminal illegal immigrants were put on a plane. 39 were headed to Mexico. Two of the criminal aliens, including Navarro, were going to Central America. It's a process that is repeated every week of the year here at Salt Lake International. And every week, ICE AIR flights across the country take four thousand two hundred convicted illegal immigrants out of the country. And the total number of convicted illegal immigrants being deported is really amazing. Last year, 3,387criminal aliens were removed from the Salt Lake area of responsibility. Nationwide that number was 136,126. That's basically 380 every day. When you see those numbers and watch the airplane fly away, it feels like the end of the story, but its not. Every day countless immigrants cross our borders illegally. In the mix, dozens of criminal aliens, who have been arrested and busted here in the past. Branch says, with the border the way it is, it's next to impossible to know they are back. "We have no knowledge when they make their entry back here. There's nothing that triggers it. There's no notification - until that subject is encountered." "It's not like the person is flying into the airport, on a visa and being allowed in - they have done everything to evade the law." The most prominent local example is accused cop killer Roberto Miramontes Roman. He is in jail charged with fatally shooting Millard County Sheriff Deputy Josie Fox. He's also an illegal immigrant who served time for dealing drugs and carrying a weapon and has been deported two times. Local community activist and former Director of Latino Affairs for Utah, Tony Yapias says the Deputy Fox shooting was a tragedy. He says it also had an immediate impact on the Hispanic community. "It's a devastating blow to the community. All of sudden blogs and comments are being made. They say everybody is criminal we need to deport everybody." But Roman is not the only criminal alien to come back to Utah. 125 suspects were busted during two recent gang crackdowns and I.C.E. agents say at least 15 were previously deported criminal aliens. And during our exclusive look at the deportation process, we encountered four re-entry cases, including Jose Zaragoza, who was busted for dealing drugs in Salt Lake City and was on his 3rd deportation. "Vas a volver a Utah? No." I asked if he was coming back to Utah. He said, not this time - we'll see. For more information, go to http://www.ice.gov. I thought all were to work ,what went wrong ? more

Resolved Question: What would be the range of th Sporty's Air-Scan VII Portable Scanner?

We live 2 miles from Tuscaloosa Regional KTCL, and we have 737s 757s and CRJs/ERJs that come in as charters several times a week usually. Would be neat to hear them. Also for whatever reason flightaware.com does not display the vast majority of the flights going in/out of KTCL. I live right on the G/S for RWY 22 (although most of the lager business jets or commercial jobs use the ILS on RWY 04) Another great use for the scanner is that the Blue Angels are coming to KTCL for the second year in a row this year. I’ve already bought tickets because last year there were over 150,000 people on Saturday. Last year it was great and they had some really good static displays. The C-17 Performance was excellent. It would be great to hear all of the planes and performers come in! But here is the kicker, what would be the range on the Sporty’s Air-Scan VII portable scanner. I live two miles to the airport the way the crow flies. Would I be able to hear transitions from my house? more

Resolved Question: Is this one a true story (it's either really funny or really scary)?

His request approved, the CNN News photographer quickly used a cell phone to call the local airport to charter a flight. He was told a twin-engine plane would be waiting for him at the airport. Arriving at the airfield, he spotted a plane warming up outside a hanger. He jumped in with his bag, slammed the door shut, and shouted, 'Let's go'. The pilot taxied out, swung the plane into the wind and took off. Once in the air, the photographer instructed the pilot, 'Fly over the valley and make low passes so I can take pictures of the fires on the hillsides.' 'Why?' asked the pilot. 'Because I'm a photographer for CNN', he responded, 'and I need to get some close up shots.' The pilot was strangely silent for a moment, finally he stammered, 'So, what you're telling me, is . . . You're NOT my flight instructor?' more

Resolved Question: Can you correct my writing assignment?

Can you correct my writing assignment? Please feel free to add or delete words. Thanks in advance! I enrolled in this class so I can improve my language business skills. Communication is the key in succeeding in any type of business. My communication skills are not the best, so that is why I am here to improve my skills. My enrollment in this particular class is also important as it is something which is a requirement for my major. I chose Business Management as my major because I enjoy learning about tourism and lodging. Basically, everything involves business. For example, marketing, human resources and so many other fields play a role in business. Business Management consists of working with different levels of co-workers. Also, a business person provides services to their consumers. In my spare time, I like to browse different internet sites based on airlines and the hotel industry. In the past, I have had the opportunity to work in the airline business. I enjoyed it so much that I want to continue in this field. In conclusion, one day I want to provide charter flights for international clients. more

Resolved Question: Is it true that the Bush administration flew members of the Bin Laden family back to Saudi Arabia on Sept. 12?

Is it true that the George W. Bush administration authorized several charter flights to take members of the Bin Laden family back to Saudi Arabia on Sept. 12, 2001, despite the presence of an an absolute ban on other civilian air traffic at that time in the US? Voting Question: How can I convince my parents to let me get a pet?

You see, I hang out a lot with my dad's friends when I go to work with him at the garage and stuff, fixing up trucks, cars, etc. and they all have found out that I know A LOT about animals, such as how long they live, what they eat, how to take care of them, the local and state regulations + laws on owning certain animals, where they sell + breed certain species, how they live and interact in the wild, i even know about permits! And my dad says that "im too lazy" and stuff and that my school isn't that hard. I GOT TO THE FRIGGING PINNACLE CHARTER SCHOOL IN COLORADO. ANYBODY WHO KNOWS ABOUT THAT SCHOOL WILL KNOW THAT THAT SCHOOL IS F*CKING HARD AND I HAVE NO CLUE HOW I WAS ABLE TO PASS LAST YEAR AND HAVE A CHANCE OF SKIPPING A GRADE!!! AND im not lazy, you could ask any of my friends, I just have WAY to much free time. He called me lazy for sleeping untill noon on spring break. HELLO, WE HAVE BEEN WORKING AND STRESSING OUR MINDS AND ASSEZ OFF ON FRIGGING CSAP AND MAPs TESTING THE WHOLE FIRST SEMISTER!!!! And my dad's friends say that I should get some animals, I've helped them out with issues on keeping their birds and reptiles that they haven't been able to solve out for years or they have been wanting to get a certain animal but they just didnt know where to get one, how to take care of it, or what it is even called! My dad keeps on saying "We dont have the money" which is actually a load of crap because he has been making $2000 of PROFIT a week for two years! + we have a pretty well sized backyard, perfect for training and allowing large birds to free flight, maybe even add an aviary. I know how to build one, as well as a bunch of other stuff. So call me crazy, but I think we could afford to buy and properly take care of a wallaby, wolf hybrid, or toco toucan! But I just want to know, what do I got to do to convince this guy I can take care of an animal or a few. He says I should start off with smaller animals, but I dont like small animals, I like and do a lot better with bigger animals like toucans, horses, dogs, cats, even kangaroos, not parakeets + finches. more

Resolved Question: New bill requiring pilots to log more hours before hiring?

I was at the airport the other day scheduling more flight training, when i saw a poster statign a new bill passed by congress would require pilots to have 1500 hours now instead of the previous 300 to get hired. I heard this from the flight instructor as well. What exactly does this mean? Does this apply to ALL entry level jobs as well? Do you HAVE to log your 1500 hours as CFI before getting even a charter job? Also, out of curiousity, they said it was because of recent plane crashes due to inexperience. Once in the air, the photographer instructed the pilot, 'Fly over the valley and make low passes so I can take pictures of the fires on the hillsides.' 'Why?' asked the pilot. 'Because I'm a photographer for Fox Cable News,' he responded. 'And I need to get some close up shots.' The pilot was strangely silent for a moment, finally he stammered, 'So, what you're telling me, is . . . you're NOT my flight instructor?' more

Resolved Question: Do you feel sorry for this illegal or was justice served?

He was one of 107 Mexican men who had started out that morning in shackles at the York County Prison and had been placed by immigration officials on a chartered plane at Harrisburg International Airport for a flight to the border. The journey was part of a now daily exodus that has made the south-central region of Pennsylvania a critical hub in the federal government's efforts to deport undocumented immigrants. Now 37, Mr. Cruz had not been in his native country since crossing illegally more than two decades before. He was leaving behind his parents, siblings, a young daughter he hardly knew and a seven-year prison stint in Virginia that followed a 2002 night of binge drinking and a hit-and-run crash. He had no clothes except his brown prison jumpsuit and a pair of blue slippers.Mr. Cruz, who became a devout Christian during his time in prison, plans to continue his religious studies and spread the word of God as a Mennonite missionary in his homeland. When Mr. Cruz crossed the border as a teenager in the 1980s, it was "kind of easy," he said last month while awaiting deportation. The United States had far fewer border patrol agents than it has today. His parents were already living in Los Angles, and Mr. Cruz wanted to join them. Most of his four brothers and three sisters would make similar journeys. After a decade living on the west coast, the family decided to move to Harrisonburg, Va., to get away from the growing dangers of gangs and crime in Los Angeles. In Virginia, Mr. Cruz found work in a poultry factory, where he put turkeys on hooks before they were slaughtered. By then, Mr. Cruz's older brother had developed a drinking problem. Mr. Cruz, a regular churchgoer, initially resisted such temptations. But he soon started drinking with his brother. "It was just little by little," he said. "Then I was an alcoholic." The pair also smoked marijuana, despite admonitions from their parents. Mr. Cruz attended rehabilitation programs, but he didn't have any success until he left his family to live on his own in Phoenix. There he met Rosario Mendoza, a devoted Christian who helped him recover from his addictions. She also persuaded him to reconcile with his parents and return to Virginia. Mr. Cruz brought Ms. Mendoza with him, and the couple had a daughter named Paula. Mr. Cruz also reconnected with his old group of friends, and he again started drinking and using drugs. In November 2002, an intoxicated Mr. Cruz tried to drive home after watching a boxing match. He struck a woman's car and kept driving before crashing again. He woke up in the hospital with a broken shoulder and neck and chest injuries. He later learned that the woman in the car had been pregnant and suffered a miscarriage. During his first night in prison, Mr. Cruz tried to hang himself with a sweater. Guards put him under suicide watch. At the prison health clinic, a nurse gave him a Bible and told him, "I'll be praying for you." Her words provided comfort. Mr. Cruz resolved to change. He pleaded guilty to criminal charges and accepted a 10-year prison sentence and the loss of his visa to stay in the United States, which his parents had helped him get a decade before. At Green Rock Correctional Center in Chatham, Va., Mr. Cruz immersed himself in Christianity, attending Bible study and theology classes sponsored by Jerry Falwell's Liberty University. He served as a translator at weekend services for other Latinos in the prison. more

Resolved Question: Can I Get my FAA first class medical with asthma?

My name is Gary, I'm 19 and I just went to get my medical the other day did well with everything except one thing. . I'm an asthmatic, so my case was sent to the FAA. My flight doc said that i would have to get a note from my regular doc stating the severity, frequency of flare ups, how well it is controlled, what medications are taken, and if there is any possibility of incapacitation while flying. In the note, my doc said word for word "Gary has been a patient in our practice. he has a history of asthma. His flare ups are infrequent and I would consider his asthma mild. He takes Asmanex which keep his symptoms under control. This patient has no possibility of incapacitation while flying". To me this sounds good and all and I honestly don't believe I will be denied a Flight medical but there are still doubts in my mind from looking at all these FAQs and websites like Yahoo Answers. Now don't forget I take a preventative medication called Asmanex which is FAA approved. I guess my main concern is since this is a preexisting illness, will it cause an issue? As far as my career goes i would like to be a charter pilot, airlines would be nice however very far out of reach at this time. I just need some second opinions. Thanks. more

Resolved Question: Is it time for Congress to kill the Essential Air Service program?

Created to last 10 years, the program that guarantees air service to small towns is now 31-years-old and showing no signs of dying. The program cost $24 million in 1990 -- but it now costs six times that, and most cities are no closer to breaking even than they were a decade ago. On average, flights are 75 percent empty from cities you've probably probably never visited and may not have even heard of. Critics call it a government charter that you pay for, but never fly. Passengers who use the program typically pay less than $200 a ticket, yet taxpayer subsidies for that same passenger routinely are hundreds -- sometimes even thousands -- of dollars. Critics say the program is out of control. Subsidies were supposed to be no higher than $200 per ticket for cities less than 210 miles from a sizable airport, but in practice, the limit is not enforced. Consider these ticket prices and taxpayer subsidies: -- Cape Girardeau, Mo., to St. Louis: ticket price $189, taxpayer subsidy $1,939. -- Glendive Mont., to Billings: ticket price $233, taxpayer subsidy $2,526. -- Alamogordo, N.M., to Albuquerque: ticket price $192, taxpayer subsidy $2,270 -- Harve, Mont., to Billings: ticket price $233, taxpayer subsidy, $2887 -- Ely, Nev., to Denver: ticket price $300, taxpayer subsidy $4,504. The program serves roughly 3,000 people per day -- mostly businessmen, who critics argue can and should pay more for their flight. Instead, Congress continues to increase the taxpayers' portion of the ticket. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/13/tracking-taxes-essential-air-service/ more
