On April 8/9 I will need to travel from the netherlands to Abu Dhabi. Was wondering what the cheapest way to accomplish this would be? I know of several discount airlines that travel within continental europe, but I do not know of any that will fly to Abu Dhabi. I am willing to fly out of any of the surrounding airports...Eindhoven/Amsterdam/Brussels .. or even out of Germany. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, and I'm planning a trip. I've noticed that airfare for just about any flight involving the United Kingdom is significantly more expensive than those going to Germany or most Scandinavian countries. Why is this? It seems hopping around Europe (including Iceland) is quite cheap, but the transit between Edmonton and Europe is much more (for obvious reasons). Iceland seems to be the cheapest place to fly from Edmonton though (I think). Does anyone know the cheapest ways to get between North America and Europe? more

Was looking at all the cheap ways for me to get from Seattle, Washington to Moscow, Russia or other fun destinations around the world that won't break the bank. Anyone know how to fly from the U.S. to Germany,Japan,Kuwait or other international bases? Theoretically time is of no importance I can fly from or to any base in the country to make a connecting flight to a foreign port. The base Im near only has flights to Texas and Alaska frequently besides I don't know the rule of "conus" what does It mean what does conus mean? Any international base hubs I could go to that have a higher then usual internation flight plan. A more then obvious one would probably be from Texas to Iraq. more

Hi, we are gonna travel to Germany in June. Our daughter will be one when we leave, but will turn 2 while we are there. We wanted for her to fly as a lap child so we don't have to pay for a seat, but how does that work for the flight home, since she will then be 2? So I am currently studying in England and I am leaving for Germany in 2 weeks to study as part of an exchange program, which lasts until mid-June. My boyfriend was supposed to be going on the same program as me, but had to pull out because of financial problems. I can still go, but I will miss him SO much. He is a very special person to me and one of the most important people to me besides my family. We said we will stay together and communicate via phone, email, Skype etc......but I would have LOVED to experience studying abroad together. I will feel so alone over there without him and not as safe and as looked after. I will miss him so much and I don't want the distance to cause a strain on our relationship. However, the whole reason I came to this university is because they offered a study abroad program and its something I wanted to do. I know it'll be a good experience (hopefully), but I cannot help but consider my boyfriend as a main factor. I can still put out, but it will have to be within the next few days. My family say I should go for it, it will be a good experience and we will miss each other and appreciate each other more, and we can still get cheap flights to visit each other every other weekend or so. What do you all think? I'll be heartbroken without him...longest we've been apart is 2 months and this time it will be 6! I hope he'll be ok on his own since he doesn't have many friends where we live and I hope he doesn't see it as me leaving him to do my own thing cos he's not around!! more

We're looking to travel to Germany for a week or two. Return flights are looking to cost almost £1500 for all of us. Am considering driving the 711miles there and 711 back as this may be the cheapest and probaby more flexible option. (11 hours travel time according to google maps) Car costs about £20 per 100miles. Still need to take into account ferry costs and any road toll costs. We could possibly do the travel time over two or more days to make it less hectic and more of a holiday. What's your thoughts on this? Does anyone have a better idea?Sorry, some more info: We're on the southcoast, near Portsmouth, so if flying we'd need to travel to London or another airport potentially too.Some extra info - At destination we'll be staying with family, but would need to hire a car that can seat 6 as we'll need it for local travel in Leipzig (Wedding invite) more

im 18 and moved back to my home country in july i currently live in germany and moved in with my dad, i wanted to get to know him better but now me and him have been in a constant fight since august where he talks about me behind my back and messages my mom saying he wants me out... i havent done anything to him, i new here i havent lived here in 13 years and he hasnt even taken me to get health insurance so im not allowed to work here yet and that is the problem that im not working i got a job but they are waitng on me to get my health isurance and someother things i need but with out my health insurance i acnt get them,,, as well i have had so much troubles with my friends here i ve come to realize that the friends that ive spent my summers here with are alote of them tools and not that great, my mother in canada is worried and says that if i want to come back anytime that i can and shell buy a ticket right away, now i dont like to give up and i want to stay untill may and work but at this point things are looking appealing, its a constant battle between my dad and i and he treats me horribly and i shoul dhave listened to my mom and his ex ( mother of my half sister) my guestion is that its not right for my mother to bailme out of this and if she buys me a ticket home than i will pay her back because i have a job position held for me back in canada but is there some way or site where i can buy a ticket that maybe is for people in my situation who are stranded in another country and have cheaper flights back home or discount site and if not is there away i can look at ticket prices from a canadian standpoitn because all i see at this moment is cost in euros and and all it does is set me abck to the region i live in so i cat look up prices with canadian dollars UGHHH help me please! more

My husband is a soldier in the United States Army, and has been deployed for about the last year, and before that, we have been stationed in Germany for a year and a half. He's coming home in November and soon after we are getting a one month pass (like a month of vacation). He hasn't seen his family in almost two years so we want to go home for Christmas. Our pass is from December 5th until January 5th. We have two kids, one is only a few months old and would be a lap child, and the other is two years old and would need her own seat. We're flying from Nuremburg Germany, to Syracuse New York. Im movin back to the united states from germany here in a couple weeks. ive been here since feb. when i came here i had only 2 suite cases. but as everyone know u accompolate stuff as time goes on. i am aware of the german '2 piece concept' meaning ur allowed 2 take 2 bags with u under 32kg ( 70 LBS). but i know for a fact i have more then that. sooo i thought ok ill get another bag. and according to airberlin ( airline i take to NYC) excess baggage 32kg and under cost an extra 25€ ( close to $25). but see i am traveling to SF. soo when i arrive in NYC i have to go thru costums, get my luggage check in at a ticket counter to get my next flight with virigin america.... im wondering if anybody had this problem. and whatr would be the cheapest way to get my stuff back home to reno ... i figured shipping thru mail might be better but it looks pretty expensive....and does anyone know the flt regulations with air berlin and virgin america... let me know more

I know round trip would most likely be best even though I am only going one way, but are there lengths of time between your departing flight and the return flight that make it cheaper? We are flying Lufthanasa so our cats can be in a climate controlled cargo cabin. There will be one adult and two children going.
