Voting Question: Becoming a flight attendant?
I'm really interested in becoming a flight attendant. I am only 17 years of age, but I know that for hiring it can be anywhere from 18-21 although most prefer 21 I believe. I know that they have general guidelines and I understand what will be required of me. I'm not interested in the job because of the "perks" and travelling. I just have a real compassion for people and love serving! So, I figured it would be a good fit for me. So! to any experienced flight attendants out there- what can I do in my interview to stand out? -Are you required to wear your hair down/up during the flights? -Is appearance a big factor? Find only the pretty girls are picked? -Are mostly the people picked genuine? or have you ever worked with some real sour people? -I am also on the shy side, will this be a limiting factor to me? -I know the shifts are long and tedious, is there still time to excercise.. even before work? -Lastly, do you mostly live in hotels then? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks guys! moreResolved Question: Wat 2 do whn sufferin from a physical shortcomin & LOW confidence, but fixin d problm would mean losin a job?
I suffer from "genu valgum" , a desease in which one's knees are closer to eachother than usual. Many ppl say it'not s.th to notice, but to me that's not the case. I'm 24 now, told to be an attractive girl with great figure( except for my legs!) lively spirit, I run a very successful social life and am s.b for whom ppl anticipate great future in career( I'm the supervisor in a language school now) I've recently applied for a flight attendant's job and I aced all the exams, interviews, medical examinations(no one even noticed my problem)and so on and in less than a month I'll have my training started. The problem is that I've recently become too sensitive abt the shape of me legs, LOW confidence, thinking everyone is staring at my legs( many ppl just look at them in the street or say offensive things for which I'll never forgive them) and I think that might be the reason not many guys ask me out! The other thing is that if I wanna have the surgery I might lose the job, however I'm too worried that when I start the job ppl might notice my problem and it might be ...Gosh I don't wanna think about it. For the first time today I cried for this shortcoming of my body without which I could've been a dream girl. should I just go through the surgery, lose the job, but end this endless torture; or like my family says, stop overreacting(I'm not overreacting though) and postpone it to some other time when my position and all is fixed? Maybe I should just go to a shrink and get my lost confidence back? I want to be perfect and I think my problem is the only thing on the way. moreResolved Question: What would you do if you suffered from a physical shortcoming and as a result LOW confidence, but fixin?

I am just curious because I have not had any contact with my mother for over 10 years and I don't want her in my life. I am not close to my family and don't have any contact with them pretty much (I'm 31 now) since I moved out at 18. I am willing to spend years and years for french if I have to. Please keep your rude comments to yourself please. moreResolved Question: Is this really fair? I don't remember reading about any note in a sealed envelope either before this article.?
http://www.cnn.com/2010/TRAVEL/01/08/oregon.unruly.passenger/index.html?eref=igoogle_cnn "Joseph Hedlund Johnson, of Salem, Oregon, was charged with the federal crime of interference with the performance and duties of a flight crew member or attendant. He is expected to surrender to authorities on Monday. About 45 minutes into the flight, Johnson gave a comment card in a sealed envelope to a flight attendant, who opened it, read it and gave it to the lead flight attendant, who then gave it to the captain, it said. "I thought I was going to die, we were so high up," the card said. "I thought to myself: I hope we don't crash and burn or worse yet landing in the ocean, living through it, only to be eaten by sharks, or worse yet, end up on some place like Gilligan's Island, stranded, or worse yet, be eaten by a tribe of headhunters, speaking of headhunters, why do they just eat outsiders, and not the family members? Strange ... and what if the plane ripped apart in mid-flight and we plumited (sic) to earth, landed on Gilligan's Island and then lived through it, and the only woman there was Mrs. Thurston Howell III? No Mary Anne (my favorite) no Ginger, just Lovey! If it were just her, I think I'd opt for the sharks, maybe the headhunters." So, really he's being charged for that card(which I'm sure he was drunk or delirious or not in the correct frame of mind, terrorism bullshit aside) because "The pilot told investigators that, considering Johnson's earlier behavior regarding his bag, he felt threatened by the card and decided -- now about 90 minutes into the flight -- to turn the jet around." So obviously they didn't turn around because he was "unruly" or what have you, but rather the card did it.. silly enough. Obviously this was a retarded decision by the pilot since "there, Johnson -- apparently oblivious to his role in the decision to turn around -- was met by FBI agents, who interviewed him, the flight crew and his girlfriend." after they landed obviously. My question is: Is this really fair? Or is this paranoia only adding to the policing agenda?Haha, agreed. Definitely a slap in the back of the head to say "WAKE UP" lol but def not prison.Hmm yeah I don't so much blame the pilot as I do the authorities pressing charges. moreResolved Question: how is the job interview for Flight Attendant ?

HICK HICKS... I have been sending applications to various airlines companies and I keep receiving negative responses (turned down). From the impossibility to proceed with my application to not planning any recruitment days until the upcoming six months. I try to make conclusion of the answers to the why... Could it be my nationality? I am currently a permanent residence in Italy with valid work permit but my passport is still Indonesian passport). Or could it be that I have never gone through firefight, first aid, and those kinds of trainings that are usually required? I am 22-years-old, physically very presentable (163 cm - 48kg), and I am experienced in Customer Care and Service (from Assistant of Maìtre to Education Consultant). I hold a degree in Information Technology, other diplomas and certificates, I speak five languages and right now I am doing accredited courses in French and Spanish as well. I am scratching my brain thinking of what is wrong with my CV... UWWUUAAAHHHHH... At least I would want to prepare myself to be much more qualified before the next recruitment annoucement... I was thinking about cabin crew training, but would it only be a waste of money...? I read some articles about the training and I extracted more disadvantages compared to benefits... We're in our mid 20s, I work nights as an international analyst, and she's a flight attendant and a model. We try to hang out as much as possible, long phone calls several times a week, romantic dinners alone several times a month, walks on the beach, movies, etc. We get into a lot of arguments over our friendship. She says I am who she wants in a relationship, except for religion. I do value her friendship, but I can't seperate how I feel. We've had several breaks now, she gets very emotional, the last was pretty bad, she even broke the present she planned on giving me. Just last week we got into a huge 3 hour fight about our relationship, I wanted to leave, she said no, she wanted to leave, I said no, but then we made up. Same week, I canceled an interview to spend lunch with her, she drove over an hour just to have coffee with me, and when she got hospitalized (she's fine now), the only person she wanted to talk to was me. Sometimes we put each other through some much heartache, but we always come back, why? Are we just confused, and don't know what we want. Or are we just stubborn, and we know what we want, but what we have here is good too? moreResolved Question: Ladies: What part of her life do I occupy?

We've had several breaks now, she gets very emotional, the last was pretty bad, she broke the present she planned on giving me. Sometimes the fights get really bad, but just last week I canceled an interview to spend lunch with her, she drove over an hour just to have coffee with me, and when she got hospitalized (she's fine now), the only person she wanted to talk to was me. We obviously care about each other...but anyone can see that our flighting isn't healthy, is there a future to this relationship? moreVoting Question: question about sexual addiction?
To me, celebrities are not relevant and I dont spend time obsessing over them but one particular famous actor got me thinking. My friend katie and I came across a movie that was on tv the other day - "the english patient". The star of the movie is ralph fiennes, now a distinguished actor. He always seems like a nice person in interviews etc. So i was supprised to hear from my friend kate that ralph fiennes has pretty much cheated on every single woman he has been involved with including his wife of like 10 years. He left her for his mistress whom he dated for almost another decade, and then cheated on HER too! He has also had numerous other adulterous relationships in which he as been dumped once his love interest finds out that ralph is cheating on her. Then he had unprotected sex with a random flight attendant on the way to a unicef project to promote safe sex and knowlege of aids (haha ironic!). THEN a month later he was caught um socializing naked with a few women in a hotel at 5 am. WTF is wrong with this guy? Is he a jerk who is really good at acting like a gentleman for interviewers, or is he a nice guy who has a sex addiction? I dunno. It just made me wonder about how many ppl have these types of mental illnesses. moreTop Flight Attendant Interviews Links
