Flight of the Conchords have 2 shows scheduled at melkweg - may 3rd and 4th. Ticketmaster's netherland division does not have any available (i dont know if this is because they haven't gone on sale yet or because they are sold out). everywhere else i look is in dutch and very confusing. plus i dont know which resellers i can trust. This is a much easier task when the concert is local! Can anyone help me find these tickets?? more

Open Question: What should I do? take a chance or just let it go already?

I spent yesterday and today's evening with a guy I like very much, and with whom I feel a connection. Problem is, he's shy eventhough I feel that he likes me, so we haven't been able to move further than hanging out like friends. Anyhow, I'm scheduled to go back home in a few hours and he has asked me to postpone the flight for a day so that we could hang out more. What should I do? I'm torn between staying here and spending more time with him, or leaving because hasn't been making any moves, and not even taking up the hints I dropped. It's killing me because I don't want to miss out on something good, but at the same time I don't want to be dissapointed if nothing happens. What should I do? more

Resolved Question: Royal Caribbean Question?

Hi there, I'm trying to plan a cruise in May and I have a question about my departure times. I am booking my flights separately because it is heaps cheaper. My concern is... Royal Caribbean doesn't suggest booking a departing flight before 11:30, but I found a really cheap direct flight at 11:05. Is 25 minutes really going to make a difference? The scheduled disembark time is 7am at the port near Fort Lauderdale. My plane is leaving Fort Lauderdale... so it is very close. I assume it will be fine.... but I want to get others advice with their past experiences. Thank you! more

Resolved Question: What is the funniest joke you've ever read?

This is the funniest I've read: a customer walks in to Tony’s barber shop for a haircut. as he snips away, Tony asks, ‘so any gossip?' the man tells him he’s off for a long awaited trip to London. 'London?!' Tony says, ‘why would you want to go there? its full of English people and is freezing! well, how are you getting there?' 'we’re flying with FGA,' the man replies FGA?! yells Tony. they’re awful. their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly and they never run on schedule! so where are you staying?' we'll be at the downtown QE international.' 'that DUMP?!' says Tony. that’s the worst hotel in all of England! no heating in the rooms, grotty carpets, way overpriced! what are you gonna do in London?' the man says, 'we're going to visit the queen.' 'HA! that’s rich!' laughs Tony. 'you and a million others! bet you don’t even catch a glimpse of her.' a month later, the man comes in for a visit. Tony asks, well, how did that trip to London turn out? betcha FGA gave you the worst flight of your life!' 'no,' answered the man. ‘the flight was excellent. Had a gorgeous air hostess and the food was better than anything I have ever eaten.’ ‘hmmm, ’Tony says, ‘well, I bet the hotel was just like I described.’ ‘no, quite the opposite! They’d just finished refurbishing. It’s the finest hotel in London, now. They gave us the royal suite for no extra charge!’ ‘well,’ Tony mumbles, ‘I KNOW you didn’t get to see the queen!’ ‘actually we were quite lucky. As we toured Buckingham palace, a guard tapped me on the shoulder and explained that the queen likes to personally meet some of her visitors, and if I’d be so kind as to wait, the queen would come out and say hello. Sure enough, after five minutes the queen walked through the door and shook my hand. I knelt down as she spoke a few words to me.’ Impressed, Tony asks, ‘tell me, please! What did she say?’ ‘oh, not much really. Just, ’where’d you get that TERRIBLE haircut more

Voting Question: How competitive is other than fighter pilot jobs in the Air Force.?

Basically, I don't want to be a fighter pilot, well I do but it's not gonna happen. I would like to fly, how competitive will it be? I mean is it gonna be 4% again? I only have 20/30 vision and no other problems. I have mild A.D.D but I can maintain a 3.5 GPA without any medication so I think I'll be okay there. All I want to do is fly something, I don't really care. My next goal is to command the flights from the ground, schedule them that kind of thing. How hard is it to get this kind of job in the AF? more

Resolved Question: If your boyfriend does not want to meet you everyday, does it mean that he doesn't love you enough?

My boyfriend is a flight attendant and he's got many days off when he's not flying. We met 4 months ago and I'm in love with him. If I could, I would have met him everyday even for a short time like over a cup of coffee. But my boyfriend doesn't like to meet me everyday. We meet like 2 or 3 times a week depending on his work schedule. It's my first relationship. Could you enlighten me on this issue? Thanks. more

Resolved Question: BARBADOS! I need some questions answered!?

Ok, so my family is traveling to Barbados in 3 weeks. But we need to know some things... By the way, we will be staying at the Hilton. Here are our questions: 1. What is the exchange rate? Can we use American money? Because I know in some Islands you can use American money as well as the islands money... 2. How long is the flight from San Juan to Barbados Grantley Adams International Airport? 3. How long is the Hilton from the Airport? 4. What places shall we visit? I know we are already visiting North Point... 5. Does the hilton offer water sports? Tubing? 6. How is the snorkeling? I am very scared of snorkeling. I live in Puerto Rico and have been snorkeling only once because it was so scary! We are scheduled to do a snorkeling trip not sure where.... Should I go? We called the place and said that I can decide when we get there and they won't charge us if I don't want to go. Thanks... more

Resolved Question: Price of package holidays?

I was looking at prices of packages online and i can't believe the prices! Years ago i got a week in Crete in October for 350euro now they charge 500. I just went onto a flight only link and they are charging 450 for a flight to sicily. You can book that for 150 if you take a scheduled flight with ryanair. Aer Lingus even offer a lot of flights now , even to the US. Why are these package companies prices so high do you think? Are they banking on people walking in off street without a clue or what?Don't adjust your screen, this is actually what you are seeing Price : €479 : per adult, child reductions may apply. Out: 13 June 2010 DUBLIN 06:20/10:55 Ret: 20 June 2010 CATANIA 11:55/14:50 Booking Ref : 3796102 (Credit Card Fee 2%, Insurance €25 per person , Supplements €10-€100 per person.) :o)Yea interesting. Well actually years is plural so i meant 3 to be specific not 30. I wouldn't have expected a price to go from 350 to 480 in 3 years especially when everybody else is bringing their prices down. I agree with Saoirse they can't compete and probably deserve to go out of business. more

Voting Question: Could finding flight deals for Sydney be better?

I'm trying to make some plans to go to Sydney, Australia so I can meet a friend and other stuff. At first, I was like, "What? Airline tickets for Sydney is near $3,000??". I know, crazy at first, until I finally took the liberty to look up some flight deals like Expedia, and realized that I could only pay around $1,000 on the schedule I chose. So I'm kind of debating, should I start purchasing the ticket on Expedia since I have the money? Don't worry about hotels and stuff. I have that taken care of. more

Resolved Question: Is this job another scam?

I applied for this job about two weeks ago and just last week, he finally responded. To me it sounds like it could be just another one of those scams. I'm not sure. Any help? It sounded suspicious to me so I went online and took a look around the net for the address that he gave me and I found that the address wasn't even an actual place but a place of a hotel! Also the phone number that he gave me was also VERY suspicious. Below is the letter that he sent me. RE: Protocol/Logistic assistant (MY LAST NAME, MY FIRST NAME) from Yahoo! HotJobs Kay Bruce: Hello, Thanks for applying for the post, I quite I appreciate it. I received and read your e-mail and it's reasonable and acceptable. So I will give this a go. I'm looking for someone that can be trusted and reliable, someone with good understanding and working skills. I am Mr Bruce, 54 yrs of age, I'm a lawyer by profession and I have been pretty successful in a handful of ventures I get involved in; from the Angel Investment Network in Canada and United State to various welfare and community service programs. I most very often get my hands occupied, so it is imperative for me to have a worthy assistant who can monitor and keep me up to date with my activities. This position is home-based and flexible, working with me is basically about instructions and following them. My only fear is that I may come at you impromptu sometimes, so i need someone who can be able to meet up with my irregular timings. As my personal assistant, your activities among others will include: *Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office *Running personal errands, supervisions and monitoring. *Scheduling programmes, flights and keeping me up to date with them. *Acting as an alternative telephone correspondence while I'm away. telephone correspondence while I'm away. *Making regular contacts and drop-offs on my behalf. *Handling and monitoring some of my financial activities.. *Basic wage is $450 a week . I'm sure you'll understand I tend to have a very busy schedule at this point as I am presently in Ireland for a summit. I will be back in Three Weeks time. I think you're the right person for this post, Please note that this position is not office based for now because of my frequent travels and tight schedules. It's a part-time, work from home basis and the flexibility means that there will be busier weeks than others. So it's a little difficult judging the exact number of hours you'll be doing per week. If you can manage your time properly, this job may even give you some extra while you do something else on the side. As I have said, I'd want us to get a head start with things as soon as possible. I do have a pile up of work and a number of unattended chores which you can immediately assist me with. I hope we can meet up with the workload eventually. Permit me to use the coming week to test your efficiency and diligence towards all this, also to work out your time schedule and fit it to mine. I really need to find the perfect person for this job and i am confident you can take up the challenges. On the long run we should have a relatively sound working relationship between us. I'm online most of the time as I am hard of hearing so I prefer we contact each other through E-mails but if there is need for me to call, I will be glad to do that. I am glad you are willing to work with me and i promise to be a good boss. I am also glad on the commitment in working. I have been checking my files and what i would want you to do for me is to run some errands out to some of the orphanage home which I do every month. The funds will be in form of Cashier check/Money orders, it will be sent over to you from one of my clients and i have some list to email you once you received the funds. Resolved Question: Problems getting from Narita airport into Tokyo?

We're landing in Narita at 10am, I was looking at the limousine and narita express schedule but there seems to be a gap in their timetables, is that right? We are staying at the Park Hotel by the Shiodome tower and there is a limousine bus at 850am then not until 1350. And then Narita express has a train at 1115 to Tokyo which hopefully we should catch if no delay, but if not next one is not until 1415, is that right? I don't remember having to wait that long last time. Is there any other cheap way to get there from Narita, I don't want to wait too long after a 12 hours flight!! more

Resolved Question: Can anyone answer a series of questions I have about Thailand travel please?

Yes, I'm back with another series of questions about Thailand (something I omitted in my first set of questions because I didn't want to have too many topics flying around). Thanks again for those who really helped me with my previous questions, by the way. I received some really helpful tips. Ok here we go. I put in as much detail as I could to elaborate on the situation I'm in. Because I'm pressed for time (something unavoidable), I'm cutting a lot of my time short in Thailand to see as much as I can. A portion of my trip will include a day trip to Sukhothai (via Phitsanulok) and 2 days in Chiang Mai before returning to Bangkok. This schedule can't be changed due to time constraints and because of the 2 other blokes I'm traveling with. 1. From Bangkok to Phitsanulok, I was thinking of taking a train. I went online to find a train schedule, but the ones I found were either from a blog in Thai or just really confusing English. Is there a sleeper-train from Bangkok that can bring me to Phitsanulok in the morning? If so, how long is the train ride and around how much would a one-way ticket cost? 2. On the same day after spending the day in Sukhothai, I wanted to head up to Chiang Mai. What's the recommended way to get there from Phitsanulok station - by bus or by train? With your recommended mode of transportation (bus or train), how long would the commute be and roughly how much? 3. After spending sometime in Chiang Mai, I was recommended to fly back to Bangkok because it's faster allowing more time for me to decompress and get ready for more Bangkok sightseeing. What airlines do you recommend I fly if I want to get back into Bangkok cheaply? 4. Also, I was told that I should just book the flight when in Thailand versus before I head out because it will be cheaper to buy it in there. Is this true? If so, where do you recommend I go to buy tickets (for 3 people) one way from Chiang Mai to Bangkok? Lastly, what is the average ball park for a flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok (I don't want to get ripped off). Thank you SO much for helping me with all my gazillion questions. Any and all relevant answers are welcomed. If you have other recommendations that you feel are better than the above plans, I'd love to hear them as well. Thanks again for your time and concern. more

Resolved Question: College lies and ignores student's requests?

Hi, I would like to know if anyone went through the same situation or if they could advise me on what to do here? For the past 9 months, I have been looking for a school in Canada to improve my english skills and pursue my career in aviation. I finally found a school where they had both a ESL program and after completing it, I could start studying to ANY program offered by the school. I called the school and asked them about more information about the ESL course and the aviation class. They told me I could do it without any problem. I just needed to register first as an International Student in the ESL classes. I paid the registration fee. They accepted me. I got my passport and visa. Paid the first half of the course and tried to pay eventually the second part of the course by fax by sending my credit card info. They didn't charge my credit cards, so when I call them to check on that, they said they did not receive the fax but to send them the information by email. Which I did immediately, but as they were not answering, I called them up again and they told me if I sent it by email, it's going to be processed soon. I wrote other emails during the next few days, no answer. I finally asked them also when I will receive my schedule and when will I do the entrance test to know my level of English. They told me on January 5th (date that never appeared anywhere on the documentation they sent me), I had already booked my flight for the 7th. I had on the same email asked them to process my credit card...but they just replied to half of the question. Don't know why... Finally, I arrived, to learn that International Students are not allowed to do the aviation course, and so I was really wondering what to do next. I decided to perhaps learn something else (although I have no real interest in anything else...) while I work (by six month I am hoping to get a student work permit) and save money to do my pilot course... Now I have been studying at that place for two months, and they now tell me I cannot assist to the classes anymore because my tuition has not been completely paid. The thing is that I stopped sending them emails and calling them because they were not answering me anyways, I just got tired of it. But now I am really mad because I used my visa card for other things to, so I cannot pay them yet. And anyway it's a bit their fault too because they never charged me when I was asking them to. I'm going off to Thailand to dive and master poi (fire dancing) my problem is the whole visa situation, apparently i can arrive in Thailand, they'll give me a visa and its valid till the end of the month. there after i have to leave the country, renew my visa and come back. the only problem with that is i have heard they've changed the return time for visa to 14 days before it must be renewed again, and i'm planning to be there until December. i can apply for a 3month visa here, but there are big issues with my air ticket being a return flight scheduled until December, which wouldn't be allowed with a 3month visa because they have to know what i am going to be doing during my stay. so to clarify here. is the Thailand visa once renewed only valid for 14days and what do you think i can do. i'm leaving the 30th march so i must act quickly more

Resolved Question: What do you think about the MORAL VALUES of Canada's Minister of state for STATUS of Women*, Helena Guergis?

* Equivalent to Harriet Harman's UK Minister of Women & Equality. Both are Committed feminists. 1/ She married a cocaine addicted drunk driver. (Once, a male Canadian Defend Minister was forced to resign when the Press discovered he married a Hell's Angel Criminal's girlfriend. Is there a double Standard here?) 2/ She has a sense of SELF-ENTITLEMENT, SELF-IMPORTANT: do you think she DID A LOT for Canadian MEN in this excerpt?: "...."She acted like a petulant child. I think she should be forced to resign because she showed such contempt for ordinary Canadians ... Martin said if anyone else displayed that kind of behaviour they would at least have been taken aside and probably not allowed to board the air plane, and, at worst, arrested and possibly Tasered." ".....Guergis and aide Emily Goucher arrived a few minutes before the scheduled takeoff of an Air Canada flight to Montreal. When asked to sit down and remove her footwear, Guergis "slammed her boots into the bin" provided by security personnel and then, according to the account, said to one of the airport staff: "Happy f ---ing birthday to me. I guess I'm stuck on this hellhole." Guergis then allegedly tried to force open the locked door that separates the pre-board screening room from the area where the aircraft was waiting. When reminded that most passengers are asked to arrive at the airport two hours before boarding, Guergis allegedly shouted back: "I don't need to be lectured about flight time by you. I'VE BEEN DOWN HER WORKING MY @SS OFF FOR YOU PEOPLE." Senator Colin Kenny, who has worked extensively on airport security, said an average traveller who acted the way Guergis did would have run into trouble. "I suspect he or she wouldn't have got on the plane," he said...." 3/ A DOUBLE STANDARD: Critics said Friday that Prime Minister Stephen Harper has no choice but to show her the door, citing the precedent set when former Progressive Conservative housing minister Alan Redway was forced to resign in 1991 after he was charged for joking about having a gun while boarding a flight. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/772404--critics-say-petulant-helena-guergis-must-go more

Resolved Question: How long does it take applying for an attestation d'accueil IN France?

I am living in France, trying to get a attestation d'accueil to invite my Mother for a visit, but the Local Town hall is telling one LONGGGGG story about they have to send it to other offices, which has to send it to my country of origin (South Africa) where my mom has to go get it at the Home affairs office....!?!?!?! WHAT!!!! Basically, i dont think they understand what they are suppose to do with my request for a attestation d'accueil... as I understand it is a form i fill At the mayors offices, that states I Do live in France, they stamp it sign it and there you go...should not take longer than half and hour when I provide all the proof of address and flight schedules of my mother... Resolved Question: Question about Flight Attendant Pay Logic?

Just a thought... At most companies (outside airlines for a moment), the company will offer pay raises over the course of many years. I would assume the logic behind this is that the longer a person has worked for a company, the more experienced they are, the more knowledgeable they are, and therefore the more valuable they are to the company. Therefore, pay raises make sense to want to keep the employee. Would this work in reverse for flight attendants? A young, excitable, cheerful flight attendant has lots of energy, and is still excited about travelling the world and serving people on the plane. But as time goes on, the flight attendant gets older (don't burn me on this one, but probably gets less pretty/handsome as time goes on), has less energy, is bored by travel, and probably fed up handling angry passengers. So by this logic, the flight attendant is becoming less and less valuable to the company. Yet, a senior flight attendant will be higher paid and have better scheduling despite being less valuable to the company. Isn't this sort of the reverse of our normal capitalistic business schematic?Look up Emirates. Wildly successful company, average flight attendant age is 26. Look up Westjet, one of the only airlines in North America to be turning a profit in today's market. No one has worked at the company longer than 14 years (since that's how long the company has been around for). Seems to me that the general travelling public doesn't consider "safety safety safety", rather "service service service" which is what the younger generation appears very adept at (given my two airline examples... I'm sure there's more). Back to my question: is Capitalism working backwards in our airline system? more

Voting Question: When does it look like the Santiago Airport will open back up?

I was scheduled to fly down to Cordoba, Argentina today but since I had a layover in Santiago my flights have all gotten messed up. American Airlines moved my flight to Tuesday, but that's assuming the airport is going to be cleaned up by then which I think is unlikely. Otherwise I have to go through BA but there aren't flights there until Friday. Is there any chance the Santiago airport would be operational by Tuesday? more

Resolved Question: Cheap flight from LAX to Tokyo in June?

I'm thinking about going to Japan in June and will possibly be traveling with one or two other people. June is the best month for us to travel this year due to our otherwise fairly packed schedules, though we could go as early as late May (the last week or so) and return as late as July 3rd. Other than that dates are flexible for us. We would like to stay for two or (even better) three weeks. Right now I am using June 2nd as our departure date and June 23rd as our return date but I just chose that pretty randomly. The lowest I've been able to find so far is $834.40 roundtrip including fare, fuel, and tax flying Korean Airlines 6/2/2010-6/23/2010 but I haven't been looking for that long. Does anyone know any sites with good deals on flights from southern California to Japan during the month of June? Any discounts/promotion tips would be greatly useful and appreciated. As well as any general advice you could give, like should I book now or wait until a bit closer to our departure date? I'm not sure when the best deals would be found.... Thanks for any help you might be able to give. I'd love to make this trip happen but one person I may be traveling with has a very tight budget (and mine's not exactly all that large either) and I'd prefer not to have to do this trip alone. more

Resolved Question: I made a revelation, would you please tell me what you think of it?

I'd like to share a revelation I've had. It came to me when I was trying to classify our species, or rather, our time period. I then discovered that our time period is the best time period to live in, let alone be born in. I'd like for everyone (who is a teenager; and preferably in America, Canada, or another first world country) to take a moment to reflect on how lucky you are that you were born in the best time period ever. We exist in the 1990s and 21st century, and we have so much that our predecessors haven't. We truly were born and are living in the best time frame ever. Let's just look at a few things we have, shall we? We have instant global communication, we have space flight, television, computers, the ability to be anyone you want to be, security, safety, video games, long life spans, top level medical care, the Internet, Facebook, the Internet, movies. Chances are, most (if not all) of us will leave to see three centuries (20th century, 21st century, and possibly even the beginning of the 22nd century), we have practically all of the information in the world at our fingertips, we've landed on the Moon, we have world peace (relatively), we have freedom, we have democracy, we have liberty, we defeated communism and the Soviet Union, we have discovered nuclear power/weapons, we have broken the speed of sound, and recently broken the speed of light (true story), we have a nearly unlimited database of music at our finger tips (just go on YouTube and search for almost any song), we can share our thoughts/videos/pictures/files with anyone else in the world nearly instantly, we are the only remaining super-power in the world (well, technical of the United States is beyond a super-power now, it's a hyper-power), we have top-notch free education, we have the ability to have the conversation that we are having right now, and so much more. Yet, that's not all we have so much more ahead of us, and the best part is, we will still be (relatively) young when more good stuff comes. We will colonize Mars (scheduled to happen in the year 2020), we will colonize the Moon, we will (probably/hopefully) make first contact, develop artificial intelligence, colonize the outer solar system, and so much more. So, let's just take a moment or two to be grateful that we have all this, and that we were born and experienced the best time in the entire universe. Thank you all for your time, patience, and listening to my revelation. P.S. I've actually known this for some time now, but I never really shared it with anyone. more

Resolved Question: How do I know if my flight is delayed or cancelled before I get to the airport?

This is my first time flying by myself, and I've never really flown during this season, so I'm not really sure how it works. I'm in the northeast, where it's been snowing/raining all day, and it's supposed to keep going all day, and my flight is scheduled for later this afternoon. I tried to check the airport's website, and they didn't say anything about any delays or cancellations. How will I know if the flight is delayed or cancelled? Should I just go to the airport as if the flight was going to be on time? Thanks.I probably should have mentioned, I meant the northeast U.S., and the airport is Bradley Intl. more

My husband is currently stated in Fort Huachuca. I am pregnant with our first child. I have heard several stories that he can come home for the delivery and others that he can't. The baby is going to be delivered early and we have to anticipate an extended hospital stay may be possible. Can my husband come home for the deliver and if so how do I go about arranging this? Resolved Question: How can i tell ifa guy likes me through texts?

i have a crush on a guy that i went to high school with and we had a class together my senior year and sat right next to each other but never talked. Anyways, i recently facebooked him with a friend request and he accepted it but then i decided to send him a message. It basically said that he should "hit me up" the next time he's in town (he's in the marines, stationed in california) and i told him that i would like to "hang out" with him sometime. Well a few weeks later he texted me out of the blue and we texted for a couple of hours that night and texted everyday for the rest of that week into the next and he was scheduled for leave and claimed he was really excited to see me but his flight ended up getting delayed too much and he just decided to stay where he was considering it was only two days leave. We continued to text until one night when i was going to say goodnight to him and i texted him "goodnight cutie" and got no response so i just never texted him after that. Well a few days ago i saw that he was on facebook so i decided to chat with him and i asked him why he hasnt texted me lately and he said he has had a busy schedule and didnt know my schedule so he just never texted me so i of course said ok with a smileyface then told him i had to go and logged off. Later that night he texted me, "so.....whats up" and i replied and we picked up where we had left off. I cant tell whether this guy likes me or not and considering his busy schedule and my own busy schedule, i dont call him. So please help me out!!! i need to know if he likes me or not!!! thanks!!! :) more

Resolved Question: Pre-Calculus Help!!! Bearings/Navigation Problem!!!!!?

You are the navigator for a flight from Mpls./St. Paul to Orlando. When the flight takes off, you are sent to take care of a problem in the passenger compartment. When you return 20 minutes later (20 minutes after the take-off) you realize the pilot has been flying a a bearing of 143 degrees and should be flying at a bearing of 168 degrees. 1. If the plane travels at 300 mph and it is 1300 miles from Mpls./St. Paul to Orlando, at what bearing should the pilot turn to correct the course? - Ok to answer this problem do I just do 168 degrees - 143 degrees = 25 degrees and is that the final answer??? Or is there more since it gives the speed of the plane and the distance??? 2. At what speed should the plane increase to in order to arrive in Orlando on schedule? - I don't even understand how I am supposed to know this because I don't even have the time when the flight took off and when they are supposed to arrive in Orlando. Or is this information technically not needed?? 3. If the plane flies at 30,000 feet, how many ground miles from Orlando should the plane start its descent in order to make a landing at an angle of 3.8 degrees with the ground?? - You use trig for this right???? Like SohCahToa??? then for the 3.8 degrees, which side of the triangle would have that angle??? Please will anyone help me with this?!?!?!?! I'm not looking for full answers just tips and ideas or equations I should use in order to solve this. I would like to try to solve it a little bit by myself but I just have no idea of where I should begin. Please and thank you in advance!!! ^_^ more
