Okay so I want to fly to Hungary for 2 and 1/2 months, to visit relitives. I have been on an ariplane MILLION times before, but never alone. Im really Afraid on going alone, because it's a 8-9 hour flight from Calgary Alberta to Amsterdam or Frankfurt ( donno which one yet ) and then I have to switch planes for another 1-3 hour Flight from Amsterdam or Frankfurt to Budapest Hungary. Please & Thank-you. Neon_Freakk44 moreResolved Question: Is $3700 USD (airfare/Eurail already purchased) enough for 9 weeks backpacking Europe?
List/Order of Cities: Spain (Madrid - we're landing here from the USA) Switzerland (Bern, Tolochenaz) Italy (Milan, Cinque Terre, Venice, Rome) Greece (Athens, Santorini, Ios) Egypt (Cairo. Flight already purchased from Athens, so current above balance includes this subtracted) Croatia (Zagreb, and the National Park) Hungary (Budapest) Sweden (Stockholm) Ireland (Dublin - flight from Sweden to Dublin researched and will cost under 50 Euro; still needs to be purchased) Flight from USA to Spain already purchased; 2-month Eurail pass already purchased - so, the above balance includes those subtracted. I don't plan to go mad shopping; I project most of my money will go toward lodging (We're all under 25 and will stay in hostels) and going out (i.e. alcohol). I love good food but plan to eat a modest meal perhaps every other day, but most days just eat normally. Thoughts? Is this doable with this itinerary? Or am I kidding myself? PS: We're going to stay in hostels and not couch surf since we're only spending 2-4 days in each place. moreResolved Question: Interrailing route! What do u think? How much money?

I have to decide soon where I want to go. I've looked up Paris and Rome historical stuff but Portugal is a new one that was just added to my list. So I don't know bout that place much but a really nice beach that I'll be staying on. Ha ha.. I'd like to go to all 3 of them but yeah, maybe later I'll see the others. For now I have to book my flights soon and I can't decide. Of course with Paris and Rome, there's different things that are part of my trip. Say like if I go to Paris, I'll be going to Venice too! Rome and some other place... and Portugal? Uh... It'll just be Portugal. Since from where I'm staying, its the farthest. I'll be out in Europe, staying in Hungary, Papa, for about a month. In that month, a week will be in one of the 3 places, another week in the second part of a visiting place and the rest in Papa, visiting Budapest and all. I'll be going in 2011 summer time, so yeah seems like I have time to decide but the sooner you buy your flight tickets, the cheaper it will be. If you had the choice, where would you like to go too? Let me know. If you ever been to them or have great info about them, I'd like to know that to. Even advice going out there if you maybe been about there visiting another place from where I'm going. Thanks! Plus, I'll be of age there to drink. Bring on the Wine tasting! =] (I'll be out there during my 22nd Bday in 2011.) moreResolved Question: i juat wanted to be assured about this site .. american express travels ..?

Ok so i was traveling by plane back to home from Amsterdam Personally i slept almost all the flight and I haven;t seen anything. We were in a group and after the flight ended we gathered together in a place.I was surprised to see that some of them were white-faced because of fear.So i wanted to know more details. A few persons had seats at the back of the plane. Everything was all right until we arrived above Budapest at about 10 000 m high(we knew this because there was a screen on every 3 or 4 chairs that was giving us information about the flight) Then they told me that a tube of light appeared from nowhere at the back of the plane, where they were siting. It was starting from somehwere from the sky( I don't know exactly ...this is what they've told me) and it was lighting the ground! Oh by the way....it was about 10 pm at the local time so it was night. They also said that they could see the houses being lightened ,which means taht the tube of light was very strong ,so it could be made only by the sun or.....Ok ,now what is the strangest is that the tube of light followed the plane from Budapest near Bucharest and it stopped when the plane went down to 2 000 m high before landing. They said that the tube of light(circle shaped)(I hope you can figure out how it looks as i did) had different positions...vertically and diagonally as i understood...A man who had a panic attack said that it had some orange things in it just like in movies...but this is just not important. Ok ,next they told the stewardes and she told them not to get in panic and said that she had never seen something like this. When the plane safely landed the pilot explained them a very rare phenomenon took place. This is what I understood from what they understood...The pilot said that the sun rays met the moon light on a special line(axe) so it formed this light that was so powerful Indeed, the sun had the required power to light the ground from 10 000 meters high. But what if it wasn't the sun?I don't want to think about it... What i wanted was someone to tell me if this phenomenon really exists or if it has ever happened before.I'll ask my physics teacher if he knows anythign about this... Meanwhile i hope someone can explain me clearly what that phenomenon is. Too bad that none of them had taken any photos...ii don't know why...maybe they were too scared to think about this. I hope it isn't booring for you as it is not for me and I'm looking forward for some answers. Thanks!>>>I know the eye-wtinesses said that not even a child could believe his explainaition.... I am pretty sure that they said the lighting tube was lighting very hard and it wasn't as big as that one you linked....i don't know...Re>>>I watched that video and it's amazing.Though it was night and they said that it was lighting enough as it hitted the ground(seen from 10 000 meteres). I figure it out how it looked like and i can 100% guarantee none lied me .As a matter of fact the man who saw it first had a panic attack and he refused to fly again back to our city. About 6 people from whom i know have certainly seen it.Why they haven't taken any photo ...i don't know... I and them have no reasons to lie ... Though it's not the same thing in the video as the discribing of the eye-witnesses. Please it was real ...and I'm pretty being sure that aliens do exist and they are giving us signs Although I'm pretty sure too that in America at a secret base...don't know wich one there must be an alien...I am sure...They don't want to make it public beacuse just imagine the chaos it would be!Same thing as the pilot cannot agree it was an UFO moreResolved Question: Is there any train to Budapest from Debrecen (Hungary) on 25 of December morning?

Hi Folks, Not strictly a financial one, but a time penalty. I looked up the shedules for all Easyjet flights out of Luton, going from anywhere from Egypt to Stockholm, Belfast to Tel Aviv. All 39 of them. Then I set to with the fine Microsoft flight simulator, and using the same aircraft as Easyjet, have averaged a 26% reduction overall in flight time. I am lucky in having an aquaintance who is an Easyjet pilot, and put this to him. Being a company man, he naturally went into some detail about this, but the bottom line was pilots are instructed to fly at lower altitudes, at lower throttle settings to economise on fuel. I suppose that you could justify this by saying that an extra 40 mins to Budapest won't hurt, and the flights are cheaper. But not many are aware that it is their time that is being eroded by this practice. Any thoughts ? Bob moreResolved Question: How to get from Oradea, Romania, to Budapest?
Hi. I'm planning to take a flight that lands at Oradea airport at 6.30pm on a Friday. Is there a train, bus or maxi taxi that could get me to Budapest that evening/night? If so, any idea of approximate cost? Thanks. moreResolved Question: What's the most economical way to get from Germany to Hungary?
I don't know much about traveling within europe, last time I went we got a flight straight to budapest. This time, we got a sweet deal to get to Frankfurt, Germany. From there we will go to Hungary. I hear of people taking the train there, but from some research the rates are anywhere from $80 to $300 for eurorail. I'm not even sure what the difference is between that kind of stuff. My dad says it's inexpensive and easy to catch a train, but he hasn't been in europe in 20 years, and I said times have changed and there's a good chance the rates aren't what they used to be. Can someone give me a few pointers on how to get the best deal out of the railway? (My dad is fluent in Hungarian, and knows a little german, so we'll get around easier than a regular touristy person:) Also, and most importantly, how much does it really cost (ballpark figure)??? It'll be a shame if it costs almost as much for the flight ticket I paid.Refused, thank you for your humble insult, but I do know exactly where hungary is and exactly where germany is. I could take a flight from where I am to Hungary for $1500 return, or I could take this deal for $500 return including tax. I didn't ask where these destinations are, I asked how I can take a train from point a to point b. I wouldn't have had to explain that if you had just answered the question. What's up with people just rambling on about stuff that the askers didn't inquire about??? moreResolved Question: any flight to budapest from yerevan?

However, the flight has a one hour check-in deadline--and I have exactly one hour. Given no delays, etc., will I be able to board my flight? Hi, me and my boyfriend booked a city break to budapest with teletextholidays.co.uk. anyway, the flight was cancelled, because of a bit of snow. we were supposed to fly with wizzair. the company we booked the flight and hotel with has in their condition the wont be responsible for any cancellation. we contacted wizzair asking for refunding the money and were waiting for their reply for 3 months, altho they promised to deal with that within 5 weeks. after 3 months i had to send them another email and they promised to refund the money for the flight, refused to refund the money for the hotel tho. I wanted to ask , if we have right to get the money from them, because only because of them we didnt get to go and basically wasted our money. thank you moreResolved Question: How long is the flight from Phoenix, AZ to Budapest?

My boyfriend and i are heading over to Europe for 6-7 weeks. We are from Australia and are looking at going Oct/Nov. Since we are heading into the cooler weather we are planning to go to the southern countries first to make the most of the good weather We are planning to fly from Aust to Barcelona 2 nights French Riviera (Nice, Monaco) 3 nights Milan 1 night Venice 2 nights Florence 2 nights Rome 3 nights Athens 1 night Greek Islands( Ios, Santorini, Mykonos) 4 nights Dubrovnik 2 nights Budapest 1 night Vienna 2 nights Prague 3 nights Berlin 2 nights Munich 2 nights Lucerne 3 nights Paris 3 nights Brussels 2 nights Amsterdam 2 nights London 5 nights Edinburgh 2 nights Dublin 2 nights This is just a rough guide at the moment of places we are really interested in. I have look up eurail, possibly getting a global pass for 2 months either 10 or 15 days, is this worthwhile. I looked up eurolines (bus) but I thought it may take a long time to get places. Have also looked up flights, thought we would do that on the long distances eg Barcelona to French Riviera, & Athens to Dubrovnik Any suggestions, tips & advice would be great How much money do you suggest? We are happy to stay in hostels (private rooms) or hotels, cabins in caravan parks etc as we want to be comfortable and clean but also spend our money more on sights/attractions etc. We also plan to eat say one meal out a day/night and the rest pack our own moreResolved Question: Would Moldova or Egypt make a more worthwhile travel destination?
I know this question may sound random, but I'm trying to choose between Moldova and Egypt for a short trip this spring. I will be flying out from Budapest and a flight to Cairo costs exactly the same amount as a flight to Chisinau, Moldova. I'm interested in both countries, but for different reasons. Egypt is a well-known, popular destination, and I would love to see the pyramids. Moldova is a complete mystery to most people, it is very much off the beaten track, has virtually no tourism industry, is Europe's poorest country, has a break-away communist region with a separate currency and military within its borders, and has a fascinating Soviet/Communist past. I would love to visit Moldova, but something tells me that it would be foolish to spend €285 on a place with relatively few major attractions, when I could fly to Cairo for the exact same amount. Would it, indeed, be ridiculous to spend this amount of money on a country with no tourism industry, when I could just as well go to Egypt? moreResolved Question: Can I visit Prague, Budapest and Krakow in 7 days?
I have a flight into Prague on a Thursday arriving in the early morning and a flight leaving from Krakow a week later in the early afternoon. I have been to Prague before, but my wife has not. I really want to see Budapest and am trying to decide if I can fit it in. Here are my 2 options, I'd like to know if you think I could see the main sites of the 3 cities using Option 1. 1. Prague for 2 full days, get night train to Budapest. Budapest for 2 full days, get night train to Krakow. Krakow for 3 full days (Including Auschwitz 1 day and Salt Mine 0.5 day). 2. Prague for 3 full days, get night train to Krakow. Krakow for 4 full days. ThanksThank you both for the very quick answers. This is good to hear. Lol, yes I have previously discussed with my wife and she is willing to visit all 3 cities and take the 2 night trains as she doesn't want to be away for more than 7 nights. We wanted to make sure we were not being too optimistic. Thanks again moreResolved Question: Travelling in Budapest and Hungary?
I know that "there is no limit to how much time you can spend in Budapest and Prague" but... for a young woman travelling alone, how long is too long? Trying to book my flight but think that over two weeks might be too much for my first time there and not knowing a soul. Plus, this trip extends to 2 months in St. Petersburg. I'm just trying to travel a bit around East Central Europe before I leave. moreResolved Question: Lost passport, reissuing UK student visa?
I am an Indian studying in the UK and lost my passport in the flight on my way to Hungary to see my family, my dad works there. They let me in Budapest because my dad had additional ID for me. I have given a police report. The Indian embassy in Budapest say that it will take a week or two to get the passport reissued. But I will need to get my student british visa reissued as well. I have to go back in three weeks, how long do you reckon it will take to get the visa reissued? Do I have to go through the application process again? moreResolved Question: can you suggest cheap air companies?
i have already looked at bmi baby, i want to fly to budapest in like a month or so but i dont know any other cheap flight companies, anyone suggest something? moreResolved Question: What issues do you see arising with this European Backpacking plan?
Hey everyone, I'm planning on traveling to Europe this fall after graduating from grad school. I'm a 23 year old guy that doesn't mind roughing it, but I would definitely like to have enough cash to see some local sights and have some fun. I'm planning on buying a 3 month Eurorail ticket and staying at local hostels. Attached below is my tentative schedule and budget. What I'm hoping you might be able to do is offer suggestions or point out any problems with the travel plans. Maybe I'm not spending enough time in a certain place, or there are train issues from one place to another, or I'm missing something from my budget, not budgeting enough, etc. I'm an American citizen planning on only spending 90 days in the Shengen countries, so I don't think i'll have any Visa issues. Also, if you have any ideas for things to do in these locations or anything like that, please feel free to offer suggestions. I also want to hit up some gay nightclubs on weekend nights, so if anyone has any info for the gay traveler, I would love that as well. Really, I'm grateful for whatever info you can provide.
