Open Question: your Animal Sign in the Native American horoscope and totems?
March 21 - April 19. The Falcon, also sometimes the Hawk (Aries). This personality takes flight easily; wishing to soar above the earth and view it from the highest perspective. This personality is often both a messenger and a hunter. Loyal, brave and insightful, the Falcon/Hawk seeks spiritual truth and often will settle for nothing less. This personality is often a messenger of higher truth and prophetic insights, and sometimes writes or speaks about these subjects. If you are not like-minded, it may be difficult to communicate with this soaring Animal. April 20-May 20. The Beaver (Taurus). Hard-working and practical, this personality is driven to accomplish goals; easier when the goals are self-directed. You can always count on this personality to get a job done; Beavers always finish what they start. Beavers often show us how to build a good foundation - for ideas, relationships, life-style. Beavers are great dreamers, who are often able to make their dreams come true through hard work and inspiration. May 21-June 20. The Deer (Gemini). The gentle, graceful deer is one of the more compassionate personalities in this tradition. Deer personalities are sensitive, and likely to take off, if spooked. Deer personalities can hide themselves quite easily; they will only reveal themselves if they feel safe. The deer is a great, protective parent - highly intuitive and agile. If a male deer wanders onto your path, and it has antlers, count them. Their number may be a key number in your life. June 21 - July 21. The Salmon (Cancer/Moon Child). Salmon long to go home; they will meet many challenges to return there. Salmon personalities are persistent and driven. Salmon personalities are water-signs, much as they are on the Zodiac as Cancers. As such, the Salmon person is likely to be moody at times, but also imaginative and sensitive. Generally, the Salmon has many keen ideas, but must be careful to ground them in reality (this relates to the vision of how the Salmon lays its eggs on rough ground). July 22-August 22.The Cougar (Leo). The cougar is lightening fast; determined, stealthy and cunning. This personality is known for leadership, bravery, foresight, much like its corresponding sign on the Zodiac, Leo. It is best not to take the Cougar personality lightly and to respect this person’s integrity. The Cougar person has the strength and agility to accomplish much. Do not attempt to undermine or engage in battle. The Cougar will not hesitate to strike back, if pushed to do so. August 23-September 21. The Bear (Virgo). Connected to the earth, this personality is protective of both its territory and its young. The Bear has great strength and great power, some of which is physical; some of which is intuitive and healing. Bears do not like to fight, but will do so, if provoked. If troubled, this personality is best left alone until s/he can work out their problems. The Bear has great power in the Native American tradition. September 22-October 22. The Raven, and sometimes the Crow or Dove (Libra). Highly creative and spiritual, this personality is often mystical and hard to read. Raven/Crow people prefer harmony and dislike uncertainty. Just when you think you understand or “know” this personality, be aware s/he may change or shift their opinions and their preferences in a flash. The Raven may reveal and interest in both the creation and admiration of the Arts. Raven/Grow people are mysterious, but also highly spiritual. The Raven is greatly respected in the Native American tradition. October 23-November 22. The Snake (Scorpio). Much like the corresponding Sun Sign, the Snake personality is capable of regeneration and transformation on a high-level, unknown by many other personalities. Snake people also are capable of being devious and slithering out of responsibilities - particularly in love relationships and business. If properly guided, a Snake personality is capable of transforming and turning around any partnership or project. For the most part, snakes are often solitary and self-contained; an important factor to keep in mind. Transformation is a hallmark of the Snake personality; the shedding of the old in favor of the new is easier for the Snake personality than for most other Signs. November 23-December 21. The Owl.(Sagittarius). Wise and all-knowing, the owl prefers to come out at night. A great, skillful hunter, the Owl keeps watch over its territory and is always on alert. Both observant and sensible, the Owl personality is not so easily distracted or entranced. To engage an owl, you must be equally as practical and keen. Owls take nothing for granted and neither should you when you meet an Owl person. Remember to listen to what s/he has to say, because this Sign has much accumulated wisdom to teach. December 22-January 19. The Goose (Capricorn). Some people tend to write off the Goose, as being “silly,” but an equal or larger number remember the Goose that laid the golden egg. And so it is, wisorry...my text got cut pieces is Wolf! so....lucky you! moreResolved Question: Air Force career fields that doesn’t get deployed often and info about them please!?
My husband is very seriously considering joining the Air Force. He is speaking with a recruiter this week and I just wanted to get some facts first hand from other people that know a lot about it. He took the ASVAB test in high school (for 4 years ago) and scored very high on it. We have a 12 month old son and so the biggest concern for both of us is how long and how often he will be gone. And also when he gets out of the Air Force what he can find a good job with after. I have done A LOT of research over the past week or two and just want to gather as much info as I can. He has made a list of the careers that he is interested in so if you can give me info not only about how long and often he will be gone; but personal advise would be GREATLY appreciated! i'm going to graduate high school & get my associate of arts degree & work as a flight attendant. while i'm working i'll meet a nice marine that can play guitar & he's going to give me a huge princess cut diamond ring. we'll have a wedding but won't have any paper work to say we're married bc I don't believe in marriage. we'll have tons of fun when he's home, traveling the world & doing crazy things like going skydiving & base jumping, and then when he's away I'll send him pictures of me modeling. once i have my A.A.A I'll enroll in the best computer animation school in the country and get my bachelors degree. then i'll go on to work with blizzard or dreamworks or some big company making video games. by this time my marine will have served his 4 years in the military & will find another job so he doesn't have to go away. we'll have two kids, either isla racquel & esme nicolette (girls) or keegan & kaiya (boys). along the way i'll publish many, many books, and life will be awsome. lol. does anyone else have a vision in their heads of how their lives are going to be? : DLol, obviously I know this probably won't happen, but I like having a plan. Plus this will be fun to read when I'm older. :p Laugh, I never said I would be an artist. I love to draw, & I'll draw to get a portfolio together for school, but that's a hobby, not a job. You can have as many hobbies as you want. I won't be a professional model, I'll just take shoots to send to my marine. I'd be a flight attendant while in my first 2 years of college, & then quit. That leaves being a computer animator & writing books along the way. All very realistic goals. To whoever quoted John Lenon, taking 10 mintutes to write a paragraph is hardly letting my life pass me by. Lol. moreOpen Question: get high without any smell?

I know it sounds really babyish, but it's really starting to get to me. It's my senior year of high school and this spring semester I decided to take the opportunity to be an exchange student in Spain. (I live in the US) The first week I was okay, but after that I've been constantly sad because I miss my mom so much. I'm still in high school so I'm not used to being away from her. She's going to come visit me in June and we'll take the same flight back home together, but until then I don't know what to do. I've made a lot of friends and I like my family here, but she's still in the back of my mind. I talk to her on Skype a couple of times a week, but it's still not like seeing her. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry. It's weird because I'm not particularly close to my mom when I'm home. Someone help please! And I have tried telling her how sad I really am and how it's not normal for me to miss her this much, but it just makes her very worried and sad for me as well. It just makes things worse. moreOpen Question: What do you think of my second chapter?
When Charles calmed down from crying, we went to the park. We took my guitar so that we could play some songs in my book. Charles sung me a song that he had written on the plane. “During past relationships, nothing has been right. Are the stars out tonight?” he strummed on my guitar. “In my relationships, I just feel like I'm a child,” his voice rung in the air. “Until then,” he paused. People were passing by, some smiling, recognizing their former classmate. Some sat on the grass across from us and they listened carefully. “I love how much you care. Your body, beautiful smile, and hair,” he looked at me instead of his fans. “I loved it when things were normal and we could just hang out. That was all I was thinking about.” His eyes were soft as he stared into mine. My heart raced as I listened to the crowd whispered with excitement. “The perfect date will be when we're alone. To me, I can only hope that we can be together, forever,” his eyes were so beautiful. I couldn’t help but scoot closer to him. “I love how much you care, how you're always there. I love it when things were normal and we could just hang out. That was all I was thinking about,” he strummed the guitar a few more times. “Wow,” I whispered. Was he in love with me? Did he write that song for me? I thought. He had written in on his way to see me. “Do you like it?” he smiled. I nodded and looked down at my hands, he touched my hand and held it gently in his own. My face heated up and my heart beat faster. I looked up and Charles looked concerned. I tried to calm my shallow breathing and swallowed. “You okay?” he touched my cheek and I immediately flamed up again. He pulled his hand away and stared into my eyes. I shook my head and looked away. “Of course,” I got up. Charles stood up too and hugged me to his chest. I buried my face in his shirt as he squeezed my shoulders. “Come on,” he led me away from his fans. They were staring at us, surprise in their eyes. We went back to my house and talked about his tour. “I don’t want you to leave,” I mumbled. “I don’t want to leave either, but I have to in order to keep my career going,” he frowned. “Can’t you just say no?” I suggested. “Yes, but then I’d get fired,” he chuckled. I scooted closer to him and hugged him, he hugged me back and rubbed my back soothingly. I buried my face in his chest. We had always been close, since the day I went to the after school picnic. We were going to eat and look at stars. In our classes, we were learning about planets and stars and stuff. “Remember the night we met?” I smiled and looked up. He was smiling too. He loved that memory as much as I did. “Yeah,” he sat up. “We were both looking out of the same telescope and we started talking. We loved astronomy when we were ten.” His eyes were soft as he regarded me. He leaned down and my heart stopped. Was he going to kiss me? My breathing quickened as his lips came closer. The door opened and I jumped away. My mom was there with milk and cookies, Charles’s favorite. “Hey kids,” she smiled and looked at a stunned Charles. He shook his head and sat up. “You okay?” I whispered as I touched his arm and leaned closer. He nodded and looked over at Mom. “Hi Mrs. Jackson,” he smiled politely. I pulled my knees up to my chest and waited for Mom to say something back. “Hello Charles. How was your flight over here?” she looked suspicious. “Fine,” he said a little too quickly. I patted his hand and rolled my eyes. We were going to kiss and Mom just had to interrupt. She put the food on my desk and hurried off. Charles got up and tripped over one of my many water bottles filled with vodka. He lifted the bottle and unscrewed the top. I jumped up, hoping he wouldn’t know about the drinking. He turned to me, the bottle high in the air. “You were drinking?” he put the bottle down and held my shoulders. “What’s your problem?” he shook me. “I missed you, and alcohol helped with the pain,” my tears slid down my cheeks. He hugged me to his chest, his arms shaking but strong. I sobbed into his shoulder, apologizing over and over again. He stroked my hair eagerly. My tears were slowing and he was calming down. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. “It’s okay. Just, no more drinking, okay?” he held my forearms tightly. I nodded and leaned closer to him. He shook his head and turned away from me. “I have to go,” he turned towards the door. “No,” I sobbed. He turned back to me and pulled me into his arms again. Life was taking a turn for the worst. I buried my face in his chest, more tears coming. “It’s okay, it’s okay. I won’t go,” he rubbed my back gently, then harder. “I’m really sorry,” I mumbled against his shirt. “It’s alright.” moreOpen Question: Opinions Needed Please!!!?
As you walk up the slightly sloped driveway, you get a sight that not only widens your eyes, it opens your ears, it lets your nose take in smells that makes you smile and it feeds your taste buds like it is a baby being hand-fed. The surroundings make you realise what is really around you. You take it all in. Not wanting to miss a second of this appealing place. Right in the middle of your line of view is a small, oval shaped patch of grass, the old oak tree standing tall and proud in the centre as if he himself owned this wonderful land. The sound of the wind beating viciously at his branches and rustling his leaves shocks you and your ears hurt suddenly as the wind picks up and smacks your bare skin. The tree must be hundreds of years old but the wind doesn’t affect him; he still stands tall and proud. He must have seen this farm grow bigger and bigger up until this very day. Birds flutter politely between his branches and eat greedily from feed-hangers that hang lightly from him. Even from the distance that you are at, you can hear the birds wings beat furiously as they try to stay in flight. You stop gazing at the ancient tree and glance around. To your left is the shimmering whiteness of the geese’s feathers, the sun radiating down and reflecting not only light; but beauty. The geese waddle around their captive pen with joy and content. They squawk and hiss with passion and the sound pierces your ears. A sudden movement in the corner of your eye makes you draw your eyes unwillingly from the creatures that you had just admired. With your head tilted to your right, you watch intently as a rider collects the pony that waits knowingly in the stables. The horse’s head is held high as the rider pats him affectionately and hooks her leg over. She taps the heel of her riding boot into the side of the horse, it snorts in anticipation for the long ride ahead. Its velvety coppered coat is blocked suddenly from the sunlight as a cloud hovers overhead. You take time to study the barn that covers the other horses. You can tell it is newly built, with a strong, sturdy roof and wooden walls, you see that the stalls are a variety of sizes. Some only have two horses in while others which are more spacious fit up to four inside. The other horses in the barn whinny longingly as they watch their friend being ridden away. The sound calms you and echoes in your ears. And for the first time, you notice the small, delicately designed cottage that rests in the heart of the farm. Its thatch roof lies quietly upon the four old bricked walls. The small picket fence circles the cottage and crimson roses entangle themselves through the gaps. The flower patch that is to the left of the white painted front door has giant sunflower’s that reach higher than the fence enclosing them. The sun projecting the cottages silhouette. You take a deep breath and smell the scents of the countryside. The rich smell of horses wafts through your nose, making you realise just how fresh the air is. You take in the scent of the cold windy weather which makes your nose tingle with a sharp pain as the iciness hits. As you retrace your footsteps back down the drive, you stop and look back over your shoulder for one last glimpse of the beauty that lies within this farm. Happiness fills your senses. Sight. Sound. Smell. Taste. moreOpen Question: What does this dream mean? Christians?
I was in the locker room, brought a book, a bag and some writing utensils... went into the gym to play around with the ball.... they were playing something like basketball except the balls bounced much more higher than regular basketball and everyone was against everyone else as opposed to ordinary basketball where you had two teams... I danced and floated around the entire court. Then I went to my locker to get my things and discovered that 1 or 2 things were missing but the head coordinator would not let me go back to the locker to find my missing items so I left. In my dream I was trying to figure out how to murder this guy that was harrassing me every single day in real life... and I walked down 3 flights of stairs at the elementary school I go to. The school was shaped and designed like a highschool but had elementary school kids... and when got to the ground floor, I discovered that 3 additional floors were added, that led further and further down into the basement... it was dark down there and you could not see anything. I saw 4 adults just the same size as me, who were trying to escape the school before the police spotted them and called them out on trespassing, they were all friends with each other and I followed them down the flights of stairs. At the bottom of the stairwell there was a door, with maybe a 3-5 inch gap underneat... that was radiating full of hte light outside... I slide myself through the crack at the bottom of the door and escaped the elementary school. Then we were being pursued by the police and the onlookers who would report us to the police for trespassing... and we were running as far as we could to get out of the cement block and onto the field of grass, and then past the hills... and then behind the hills so that we could not be seen. I discovered that the 4 guys were actually angels. They were dressed in white and glowing... the youngest angel who looked about 17 years old... took me in his arms and carried me.... I was taller than him and weighed more but because he was a man, and more muscular he was able to run and carry me at the same time, since I couldn't run fast enough... Later on the angel dropped me... but I was still floating in the air and I asked the angel how I was able to float in the air when no one was carrying me... and he told me it was because he was fixing his eyes on me.... and just the power of his gaze was enough to keep me in flight. Then I was back at the locker rooms this time at a college, a former love interset who wants nothing to do with me was at the lockers next to me. I asked him why he despised me and he said he didn't. I told him "I know you despise me because God told me that you do. I ask God about every guy that I ever talk to." And then I started listing the other guys I was interested in by race... Then we were at the subway underground, and this really popular artistic showoff, starts dancing around in blingy pants, that are way too low and showing half of his underwear. He acted really gay and feminine and I didn't know why the kids liked him but so many did... moreOpen Question: My visa application form has been accepted by the?
South African Consulate in Mumbai and i was given a token with a date on it. Is it now safe to presume that i can begin packing my bags and preparing for the journey? Or is there still a chance that it could be rejected higher up even though it has passed the acceptance on the ground levels and been entered into the system? Honestly I am well aware that only and ONLY the consul general has the discretion to pass or reject an application and any one telling me that is just useless to me and is an ignoramus who hasn't read the question PROPERLY and is just a waste of time. I just need someone in the know who probably knows how the system works and has experienced this on a general basis of passes and rejections. Coz the agent who assisted me told me quite confidently that once an application is accepted and fed into the system it means that you're visa is guaranteed. I tend to believe that coz it was was not accepted the first time around until I provided a fax that was required - so, i just need to know if this part is true. As the date on the token is just 2 days before my flight date and being in the know would save me alot of rushed time. Thanks. moreOpen Question: What breeds of dog would be good to travel with?

This is in the extremely rough stages, like straight from my head onto paper, but I hope you like it. Twenty high school students arrive at one of the many peaceful islands off the coast of Key West, Florida. Chaperoned by four adults, they are otherwise completely on their own. Three cabins house the several teens for the next two weeks. Unbeknownst to them, a category two hurricane is headed their way. “Cade! Hello!? I asked you to get the candy.” Dakoata Montgomery glared at the man across from her. “Sorry,” he mumbled, and grabbed the bag of Fourth of July leftovers. Cade dumped the contents on the coffee table, and sank into the over-stuffed sofa. “It’s fine.” Dakoata thumbed through the deck of cards, finally handing one to her partner. After arranging her deck into the classic Solitaire layout, she sat back in her chair. “Cade, turn up the radio,” she demanded suddenly, listening attentively. “… category two hurricane making its way towards Key West. The island is now on immediate alert for evacuation…” crackled the radio. Dakoata blinked. “I’m going to check the stations and make sure everything is alright.” She stood up, and straightened her jeans. The Coast Guard channels were silent, so Dakoata turned back to her game, a perplexed look painted on her face. Cade shook his head at the pretty girl. “Don’t worry. I don’t think anyone has decided to take a camping trip on any of the islands.” He laughed, and took a sip of his coffee. The two played for a while, until the thick metal door of the game room creaked open. “Oh, hey Cade, Dakoata.” A huge black man stepped inside, his deep bass resounding through the small room. “Hello Jeremiah.” Dakoata curled up on the old sofa. She closed her eyes, and listened to the icy rain hitting against the window. The Jamaican seated himself next to Cade after grabbing a soda from the mini refrigerator. “You playin’ solitaire?” Cade nodded, and concentrated on his game. Just then, the radio booted up. “Help! Help, please, someone… twenty teens… island flooding.” Dakoata leapt off the couch. “Cade, you said there was no one on the islands!” She grabbed the radio off the counter. He jumped up. “Hey, look. I didn’t know!” Dakoata turned on him. “Well next time, look better!” she yelled at him. Jeremiah moved between them. “Whoa guys. This ain’t no time to be arguin’. Now, obviously, there are a few people that need our help.” “It’s twenty people. Depending on how many people we have available, that’s gonna be at least three trips!” Cade’s jaw muscles bunched up in frustration. Jeremiah shifted his weight. “Actually, sir, we’ve only got one helicopter.” “Great, it’s going to be four trips.” Cade’s eyes darkened. Dakota, a helicopter pilot for three years, pulled on her water proof Coast Guard jacket, and rushed out of the game room. Cade followed behind Jeremiah to the outdoor landing pad. “Cade, find Kelley.” She was the flight engineer. Dakoata looked at Jeremiah “Run to the control tower, please. Check all of the islands, and see which ones have been checked out, and anyone who was on any island for the day. Cade, suit up.” He nodded, and grabbed his gear. Kelley came running out, shielding her eyes from the icy rain. “Dakoata, what’s going on?” She shook her head. “I’ll explain later. Just check the helicopter, and we’ll be going.” Dakoata stepped out into the storm, heading towards her helicopter, but Cade stopped her. “This is crazy! Why are we flying out in the middle of a hurricane for twenty kids?” “Excuse me? You think I’m crazy? I thought we were supposed to save people in trouble, but of course I don’t know anything!” She yelled in his face, pushing past him. Cade took a step back. “No, I think it’s crazy that we’re rescuing twenty people off a tiny island with one helicopter.” He felt his throat tighten in indignation. moreOpen Question: What all the requirements for Flight Pro Sim DVD?

Answer this... 1.the religion of the ancient Greeks saw humans as the playthings of the gods and both humans and gods subject to blind fate. How does this view contrast with the "sea of [Christian] faith that Arnols speaks of? 2. About 10 years before this poem was written, Darwin published his famous book showing that humans had evolved from apes, calling into question the literal account of creating in the Judeo-Christian Bible. It is this erosion of Christian faith that arnold says has caused disillutionment in the culture of his time. He works this idea into a methaphor. What two things are compared? What is the feeling expressed by it? 3. He expressed the resulting feeling in another mehtapor. What thiings are being compared in the last few lines? What is the feeling here? 4. How does Arnold propose to deal with these feelings caused by the loss of religious faith? Read this...... Only, from the long line of spray Where the sea meets the moon-blanched land, Listen! you hear the grating roar Of pebbles which the waves draw bacj, and fling, At their return, up the high strand, Begin, and cease, and then again begin, With tremulous cadence slow, and bring The eternal note of sadness in. Here's my story, sorry if it's a bit lengthy. At the tragic expense of my grandfather's sudden and early death, I've recived my multi-million dollar inheritence earlier than anticipated. He was an executive for Warren Buffets Berkshire Hathaway and bought up several hundred shares of stock while they were dirt cheap. My current financial situation is this: A 41 year annuity of $207'000.00 a year (Actually direct deposits monthly.) Also a secluded cabin in the Hawaiian islands as my permanent residence, and 1.5 Million remaining in uncommited dollars spread out in three bank accounts, that will be my retirement when my annuity runs out at the age of 61. As you can see, I'm a 20 years man and set for life. Further more, and you can correct me if I'm wrong about this, that's why I'm here asking, but it would seem that I have nothing to lose when I go in for my final check. You see, a week from this friday, I go in for my final check. I am assistant manager at a golf course and absolutly despise the boss. She has made the last year of my life miserable, and instead of going out with a handshake, I'm thinking of going out with a literal bang. Because, I live in Pensacola county Florida, and my flight to my new life in Hawaii is 11am a week from friday in Tampa. So, two hours before the flight, I get there at opening at 9am, noone else is there, I get my check, rough her up a bit then high tail it out of there. This is my opinion: Even though Tampa, the location of an airport is a neighboring county, the process of extradition remains nonetheless. So, even if she can tell the police I'm there (Which I do not believe she would know), there would be way too much legistical stuff to be able to get me before the flight takes off. (Even if they did, i could pay my bail, then leave, and consider it worth it.) And, although a state wide warrant for my arrest would be issued (And as a person who interned for the DA in high school I know it would be only statewide) it would not affect me anywhere else. I can guarantee that the DA's office will not pay precious money out of their budget to extradite me all the way back from Hawaii over a simple assault charge. Plus nonpayment is judgement is not a criminal offense, it's civil. But even before that, she knows who can afford the much better attorney, and suing across state lines, plus the travel expenses of coming to the islands, simply costly to the extent that it wouldn't be in her udget. I'm confused on what I want to do right now. Im a senior in high school and want to fly, thats all I know. I am planning on going into flight technology which offers flight training at Kent State University and doing the AFROTC along the way. This is just a plan right now. I've heard flying commercially is a bad route (its somewhat a boring flight job) opposed to going into the AF or Navy, which I find fascinating. But I am also very hesistant about going into the AF because getting assigned an aviation job is apparently rediculously hard. Let's say I go AFROTC and do my flight training with a dagree in flight technology, what would my grades have to look like going into the AF as an officer to be a pilot in anything, not just fighter pilots. Are they looking that you definately have any previous flight training? If so, about how many hours are they looking for? What other qualifications are they looking for? Im pretty confused, any suggestions will help! Thanks. moreOpen Question: Ex Boss?????????????????

PS: I should mention that the bank accounts are Swiss based, and while they now disclose the existents of accounts to the IRS, they will not freeze/hand over any money. Plus the State of Hawaii SC has ruled that annuity funds cannot be touched for judgements/law suits. So she can't collect on anything if she sues, and failure to pay judgements is civil, not criminal. She would quickly find that out and not even waste money trying. Hello RC fans, I'm into RC aircraft, and I've had a bit of experience with smaller planes. I'm looking for something larger, wider wingspan, higher lift to drag ratio, that'll be able to carry a load of about 5kg, and travel up to 10km in a single flight. It needs to be rudimentary, so none of the aesthetics that model aircraft are famous for, and needs to be strong and light, so I'm thinking aluminium. I'm asking this question through my dads yahoo. I have recently enlisted with the air force and have a job and basic date already. My main goal is to fly in the air force, and i am only 19 with no college credits thus far; i thought i was going to be gone already. I had planned to do as much school as i could while working SF, but i know that is very very hard to accomplish. I then decided to try and past the PAST test for either CCT or Combat Weather. As of right now that goal is reachable as long as i become a better swimmer so i can pass the 500 meter swim next time i take it. I passed everything else. These jobs i was told would look great on a resume for OTS and flight school. I also planned to try and win an enlisted to commissioned scholarship, but i now have a new plan. I want to stay SF because it has a short tech school, and then apply as soon as possible to USAFA, with hopes to at least get into prep school. I was an A, B student most of high school. Once in a while I'd let my grades slip but nothing horrible. I once had a D in chemistry because i pretty much used that hour for sleeping and it caught up to me, so i had that grade erased as an incomplete. I retook the class and earned an A with ease. I only had a 23 on the ACT, but i wouldn't expect more since i didn't study once. My ASVAB score was an 82 overall, M: 073 A: 084 G:081 E:090. I would say that i am a bright person, i just took high school way to easy. I know that if i went to prep school i would do great, I actually want to go there first because i have been out of school for so long. I played football, basketball, baseball, golf, and I wrestled in high school. Varsity for golf and wrestling, I didn't play the other sports past my sophomore year. I am sharing all of this information because I would really like to know if I have a chance to prove myself in prep school. I know there are reserved spots for airmen and that they usually do not fill up. I also would like to know how early I can apply, because I read somewhere that you have to have a letter of rec from your commander. That to me means I would have to have been on base long enough for them to know me. Other then those sports I was a boyscout when I was younger, but I believe I stopped in eighth grade. I worked a few years at our annual festival in my town, and I also coached a community youth soccer team. Any advise would be helpful. Most importantly I hope someone who is at USAFA or knows a good deal will come across this. ok, i'm in year 10 and i've now done 2 out of 5 days at my work experience placement which is at my local veterinary centre (vets), the first day i was soooo not looking forward to it not just because im very shy and dont tend to socialise with new people much untill im comfurtable. so this was one of the reasons why i applied for the work exp to build my confidence aswell as to learn obv what it is like to work & to see if working as a vet/vet nurse is what i really want to do before i comit myself to training after school etc. well the first day was quite boring because when i arrived they hadn't planned anything for me to do, so i had to stand in the corner "observing" which is an obv thing to be doing on the first day but i felt under peoples feet because there wasnt much room, there were lots of vets and distressed animals. so after watching a few interesting operations and sweeping up fur and general dirt then mopping all the floors with disenfectant, which i was fine with as i cant obv help with operations etc. i then got to watch some consultings which were also ok, but when there werent anymore customers i was left sat in the room because i didnt want to go back into the operation room as there wasnt much room and they were having a bit of a crisis with a low number of vets and a high number of animals. the next 3 hours after lunch i spent cleaning kennels, mopping the floor again and doing the odd jobs. so after just cleaning and being bored for 7 1/2 hours of my day i went home not looking forward to the next day and feeling exhausted. so i gave the next day a go and the same thing sort of happened exepet there were a few more things for me to do, (cleaning wise ofc lol) and watching more consultants and a new job... jugging 8 mugs of tea down a flight of stairs and through heavy doors without losing half a cup of it. i originally asked my teacher to prospone my work exp for just a little bit of a later date as i was stressing about having to finish certain pieces of courseowkr in class to be sent off to be marked, aswell as missing loads of other lessons and other bits of coursework.. however i have now sorted this out with school and they said they cant wait untill i get back to start the coursework, and my mum said she can phone the work exp place to say ive gone back to school to complete much needed courswork.. but i feel like im going to get in trouble with the vets there because i heard an "ex- work experience girl" being slagged off because she dropped out after a couple of days but not for the same reasons as me? what shall i do? moreResolved Question: Need experienced people who workout to answer question?
Hi, I'm trying to gain weight but I'm not sure where to place my activity level at to determine how much my calorie intake should be per day. I work two jobs. At one of my jobs I really just sit there but about 5-6 times a day I walk up and down a flight of stairs. My second job I basically stand the whole time. I clean sweep and mop and lift and dump about 4 5lb buckets. Those are my usual activities for the day. would you consider my activity level to be low moderate or high moreResolved Question: Question about Flight Attendant Pay Logic?
Just a thought... At most companies (outside airlines for a moment), the company will offer pay raises over the course of many years. I would assume the logic behind this is that the longer a person has worked for a company, the more experienced they are, the more knowledgeable they are, and therefore the more valuable they are to the company. Therefore, pay raises make sense to want to keep the employee. Would this work in reverse for flight attendants? A young, excitable, cheerful flight attendant has lots of energy, and is still excited about travelling the world and serving people on the plane. But as time goes on, the flight attendant gets older (don't burn me on this one, but probably gets less pretty/handsome as time goes on), has less energy, is bored by travel, and probably fed up handling angry passengers. So by this logic, the flight attendant is becoming less and less valuable to the company. Yet, a senior flight attendant will be higher paid and have better scheduling despite being less valuable to the company. Isn't this sort of the reverse of our normal capitalistic business schematic?Look up Emirates. Wildly successful company, average flight attendant age is 26. Look up Westjet, one of the only airlines in North America to be turning a profit in today's market. No one has worked at the company longer than 14 years (since that's how long the company has been around for). Seems to me that the general travelling public doesn't consider "safety safety safety", rather "service service service" which is what the younger generation appears very adept at (given my two airline examples... I'm sure there's more). Back to my question: is Capitalism working backwards in our airline system? moreResolved Question: What is a good place to buy lightweight, mid-to-high quality furniture in Houston, TX?
We just moved into a new apartment (pretty roomy), but after a series of stupid decisions we had to leave much of our furniture behind. (Not worth explaining the specifics. The move has not gone smoothly.) We are living in the Humble, TX area now, and I'm wondering where to buy our furniture. Part of the reason so much of our furniture was left behind is because we had gotten several large pieces that cost too much, honestly, and were heavy like ocean liners. I'm trying to stock our apartment with attractive, medium-to-high quality furniture that can be carried up one flight of stairs without breaking our spines. Any suggestions? (PLEASE) moreResolved Question: Would you rather do a mundane job with good hours or a fun one with odd hours?
Just a "what if it were you" question..... I work for a major airline on the phones and mainly do the tedious task of fixing mistakes on reservations all day long. The job is unrewarding and doesn't match my out-going personality- but I do enjoy the regular 9-5 weekday hours, having holidays off and being casual in the workplace. My company offered me an interesting job greeting high-end passengers and assisting them through the local airport. It sounds like a fun job that I would meet some very fascinating people and I'd be very good at it. However, it requires the wearing of a suit (I'm typically very casual and hate being dressed up) and weird hours involving weekends and working evenings sometimes up to 1am when our last flights leave. I've never worked hours like those and am so worried it'll kill my social time. I don't have kids or a partner, but would hate to lose time with friends and family. I personally have no idea how it feels to work holidays and weekends, but can't imagine it'll be fun. But I absolutely can't stand my current position. For those who have done it- is it really worth having a cool job but working those bizarre hours, or does an unsatisying job with regular shifts and more free time seem more appealing? Both jobs pay right about the same and have similar benefits with the same company moreResolved Question: appointment to Naval Academy?

So I am kind of an emotional wreck right now because my boyfriend is leaving for basic training in two days and I dont know what to expect :(. His job is air transportation so basically he just plans flights and what goes on certain flights. With this job is there a high possibility that he will be deployed for months at a time? The bummer part is his recruiter was all saying that its highly unlikely he will be deployed because he is going into the airforce section and because of his job type.... But for some reason I get the feeling like she was just saying that to make him feel better. Also when he is in his job after basic and tech school is he going to be really busy to the point where we are barely going to see eachother? I love this man to death I just need to know what to expect and what I should prepare myself for. I know I wont be hearing from him letter wise for 2-3 weeks in basic and the only call I'll get is him giving me his address for about 30 seconds haha. So, for the most part I have prepared myself for that and his tech school is only 4 weeks so its not bad. He told his recruiter he preferred to be stationed in Washington state where I am at and they have a pretty big base here for that, but what are the chances of that? Do air force men get any say or can they just be like "Sorry, we need you in Korea your going whether yo ulike it or not?" Im sooo nervous my stomach is just upside down right now any advice will be MUCH appreciated :) moreResolved Question: Can you make a succesful precis out of this passage?
Owen, ordered to bat for John, hits a high foul ball that falls onto John's mother's head, breaking her neck and killing her. six months after John's mother's death, John begins to realize just how remarkable Owen is. Simultaneously, Owen wins the role of the Baby Jesus in the Episcopalian Christmas pageant and the role of the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come in an amateur theatrical production of A Christmas Carol. Owen brings the Christmas pageant to a halt when he accosts his parents in the middle of the performance, demanding that they leave. He is chillingly good as the scary ghost in A Christmas Carol on the night of the final performance, he has a vision in which he believes he sees his own gravestone--complete with the date of his own death. When the boys are old enough, they enter Gravesend Academy, where Owen thrives: he has a powerful column called "THE VOICE" in the school paper, and easily becomes the class valedictorian. Shortly before graduation, however, he is expelled for helping students make fake IDs out of their draft cards--it is the early 1960s, and the Vietnam War is just beginning. After his expulsion, Owen removes a statue of Mary Magdalene from its place in front of a local Catholic school, amputates its arms and head, and welds it to the stage in the Gravesend Academy auditorium. The school minister, the doubt-plagued Rev. Louis Merrill, asks the boys at morning meeting to pray for Owen Meany, and the unpleasant headmaster who expelled Owen loses his job as a result of the event.Owen manages to graduate from the public high school, and John and Owen are reunited at the University of New Hampshire, where John majors in English; Owen develops a relationship with John's hypersexual cousin Hester. Owen is given an administrative assignment in Arizona. There, Owen campaigns actively for reassignment in Vietnam. John, meanwhile, attends graduate school. John does not want to go to Vietnam, and Owen helps to ensure that his friend will not have to go to war by amputating John's right-hand index finger with a diamond saw.In 1968, Owen begins working as a casualty-assistance officer, escorting the bodies of dead soldiers back to their families. One day, he calls John and asks him to meet for a few days in Phoenix, Arizona, where Owen is on assignment. John flies to Phoenix, and he and Owen spend a few days relaxing; John meets the bereaved family Owen is then helping, which comes from a trashy part of town. John especially notices the dead soldier's younger brother, a hulking, menacing fifteen-year-old named Dick Jarvits, who lives for the day he will be able to travel to Vietnam and slaughter the Vietnamese. When John and Owen go to the airport for John's return flight--on the day that Owen believes he is destined to die--they see a group of nuns escorting a column of Vietnamese war orphans through the halls. One of the nuns asks Owen to take the boys to a men's room; there, Dick Jarvits bursts in with a grenade. He hurls it at John, who tosses it to Owen; Owen leaps into the air, and John holds him up so that he can thrust the grenade into a high window alcove--a move exactly like the The Shot. The children are shielded from the blast, but Owen's arms are blown off, and he bleeds to death. Back in Gravesend and before Owen's funeral, John goes to see the Rev. Merrill. During the meeting, Owen's ghost possesses the reverend and causes him to admit that he is John's father. The reverend claims that he prayed for John's mother to die just before the foul ball hit her, and that, in vengeance, God has turned his face from him. To restore his father's faith, John plays a prank in which he places a dressmaker's dummy in such a way as to make the reverend think he is seeing John's mother's ghost. His faith restored, the reverend delivers a passionate eulogy for Owen, calling him his "hero" and pleading for God to give him back. From his house in Toronto, John remembers that also before the funeral, he paid a visit to the Meanys, where Mr. Meany reveals a shocking fact: he claims that Owen was a virgin birth, just like Jesus Christ. He tells John that he told Owen this when Owen was about eleven--about the same time that Owen accidentally killed John's mother. John considers this revelation gruesome, and says that it cannot be true. It remains unclear what John believes about Owen's parentage, however, and the mystery is never explained. moreVoting Question: What college majors to become an airline pilot?
