tomorrow at 12.15 i am flying Iberian Airways from Madrid to Amsterdam. Then at 7pm at night I am flying JAL Airlines to Japan then onto Australia from there. In Madrid there is snow and bad weather and people are being put in hotels overnight to deal with delays. I was supposed to fly from London Stansted to Alicante on 20/12/2009 but they called on the same day of the flight tellling me that the flight was cancelled.... they said there are no other flights from any UK airport to anywhere in Spain until the 26/12/2009 so they rebooked me for that day... but I want to be home during Chritsmas so I booked another flight on the 23/12/2009 with easyjet as well but flying to Madrid and then I have booked another flight with Iberia from Madrid to Alicante.... in total I have paid almost 1000 pounds with these changes of flights... moreover I have to pay for extra accomodation and living expenses during these 3 days... will they make a full refund of the other bookings and accomodation, etc????? please help?? more

ok, my g/f wants to travel to ES and wants to go on TACA, I've never flown on that airline and some people have given me great recommendations while others promise never to fly on that airline because of the horrible service and expensive tickets. What kind of food and entertainment do they offer, and do they have business/first class? I usually fly American Airlines or United, or British Airways when traveling internationally. Resolved Question: Do Indian citizens require a Schengen visa when in transit?

Last year I traveled from London to Lima, Peru via Amsterdam (on KLM) and did not have a valid Schengen visa. However, I never cleared passport control in the Netherlands and could catch my connecting flight on the way there and back without a problem. This month I traveled from London to Guayaquil, Ecuador via Madrid (on Iberia/LAN) and did go through passport control on the way back, though not on the way out. On the way back to London my passport was stamped twice in Madrid when disembarking from the flight from Ecuador and when embarking on the flight to London (approximately 90 minutes apart). This time I luckily did have a valid Schengen visa, so did not have any problem either. However, I am confused about what documentation I should have. Could someone please clarify what the rules are regarding Indian citizens transiting through Schengen? I am a full-time UK resident. Thanks in advance. more

Hello, this is my first question :) What does the life of a pilot look like? I mean, a commercial airline pilot? Let's say, someone who works for Iberia, KLM, US airways, TAP, whatever airline, does the pilot fly only for that company? How many days a week? How often is a flight to the same destination? Is there another destination every day? Is there a main city? I mean, if you live in the Netherlands, do you fly like a pilot for KLM from Amsterdam to another city and back? or basically around the whole world? What time you go to sleep? If you arrive at your destination, where do you stay? Hotel?? Do you have time to visit the city you traveled to? How long should you stay there before having your next flight?? Yes- I already have done some research about the life of a pilot and I have understand that its pretty hectic and stressfull, but please I'd like to know how a full day of a pilot would look like.. or a week, a day of a pilot's life... thank you for sharing your thoughts/information!! more

Resolved Question: What should i do if EL-AL airline lost my luggage, and returned my things broken?

i just got back from 2 weeks in israel. when i was putting my luggage through the scanner in israel.. they said that they would take one part of my luggage (my bigger bag).. and put the other part (my smaller bag) someplace else.. (simply because of my request to have my seat changed for medical reasons) when i asked them if my other bag would b e safe.. they said yes.. and they said take it the elevator. where it would be taken onto the plane. as i was doing this i was unsure... but other people whose seats were being changed also were putting their luggage there.. so assumed it was fine.. my friend even said my bags would get extra care because it was going to where the flight attendants put their luggage. 12 + hours later.. after my flight.. every single person claism their luggage.. and i am waiting there for hours and nothing comes out. my second bag is officially lost. i go the el al counter and tell them about the problem. they were very rude, and falling asleep as i was talking. my bag has returned today.. (my second bag).. and the sleeping bag that i tied very securely to the bag was untied.. and the sleeping bag was dragging.. by one string.. not folded. and my clothes were all damp/wet.. and my blowdryer was cracked and part of it was broken off. and i believe one of my cosmetic items is missing from the bag. my blowdryer was very expensive. and the whole ordeal of waiting for my bag.. and the stress it caused me was severe.. i am 19 years old. and i am unsure of what to do. i feel cheated by the airline.. and i dont know what i can do now.. if i get the airline on the phone , is it possible to be reinbursed for the damaged as for them losing it to begin with? my luggage was lost for weeks with iberia airlines.. and now with this happening with el al.. i dont wanna let it go.. it really sickens me.. that i trusted them, and they told me my luggage would be safe if i separated it.. and now my things are broken. more

My girlfriend lives in Brazil. I have been there 3 times since we met in Florida in 2006. I brought tickets for me to go to Brazil in January and also for her to come back here with me for 3 weeks. Then we would both return to Brazil. Then I would return to England again 3 weeks later alone. Resolved Question: What type of documentation is required in order to take my pet overseas to Spain (Europe)?

I am flying Iberia Airlines at the end of this month. My flight leaves from JFK in New York to Madrid and then connects to Santiago. This is the first year I will be traveling with an animal. He is a 7 pound pomeranian with a microchip and up to date on shots. Iberia's website says I need a pet passport, however I called them and they told me I just needed some kind of vaccine records and records of having a microchip in place. I called my vet and explained to them my situation. They told me I needed an international certificate to travel and that it would be $125. The price of transporting the pet on Iberia is already 300 euros. This is ridiculous, does anybody have any experience in this? more

Resolved Question: BA T5 luggage delay... What would you do?

My boyfriend was lucky enough to flight through T5 on a connection flight from Edinburgh to Spain. He bought the ticket with Iberia (Spanish equivalent of BA) and therefore flew with BA from London to Edinburgh. Edinburgh is where we live. He didn´t have an insurance and he claimed compensation for the expenses caused for the delay (3 full weeks by the way) and he got a reply yesterday to say that they are not liable at all because he was coming home. As previous emails on this forum (How do they know that he was coming home?) He forwarded all the receipts and he´s been told that he is getting a 75pounds voucher to flight with BA again...with compliments... Is it just me or this is just not fair enough?
