Has anyone played any good ones lately? Have there even been any decent ones released lately? I remember playing the original Descent on my Pentium 66mhz over a 14.4 baud dial-up modem with my neighbor. I played several of the Wing Commander games, which were good before they started putting in real actors, and even then they weren't that bad. X-Wing and Tie Fighter were really great ones, Descent Freespace is the most recent one I remember.The genre seems pretty much dead now, along with Flight Simulators. There are games based in space like EVE Online and some strategy games, but nothing I've noticed recently where you are actually flying the ship, doing escort missions, etc. My joystick has sat in my closet for years collecting dust. :( more

I just bought flight simulator x deluxe online from ebay and I was trying to install it to my computer, and when I put it in, the cd wouldn't even spin. The game came with 2 disc, so I tried the second one, and the computer read the second one.. My question is, why won't it read the 1st disk? I mean it didn't even spin. Hey answers, I recently picked up a new joystick to use with flight simulator X, battlefield 2 and battlefield 2142. FSX is great even though theres no missiles, but flying jets in battlefield is hard to learn because you have to play online with players that are abillion times better than you. Flight in 2142 just sucks. ANYWAY, I wanna know if there are any other good dogfighting/flying games besides the ones i mentioned and tom clancy's HAWX and ARMA 1 and 2. HAWX is cool i guess, but im looking for better. I just straight up don't like ARMA. Also i've played Air Rivals, online flying MMO. this got repedative and boring and you have to be very high leveled in order to do massive pvp battles. So the thing is I used to have a computer with a Nvidia GeForce 9300 GE graphics card which performed quite well for the games I played (mostly Flight Simulator X). Unfortunately that computer had all sorts of problems, and the computer I have now has an integrated graphics card (intel Q45/Q43 chipset) which obviously doesn't perform very well when it comes to gaming. So I've been looking at the online store at bestbuy, and the card I'm considering getting is the Zotac Geforce 9500 GT. Is this any good? Is it better than my old 9300 ge? Is it at least better than the built in graphics card I have on my computer now? Thanks. more

Ok i have an Hp Pavilion 750n and it is pretty old but it can still run games like train simulator but when i run flight simulator things just start dragging, also i have the full version of fraps and whenever i start fraps it says.. I am a advance computer techie, but since i am not a professional i am clarifying this doubt... I had recently received a Acer Aspire Series IE-3470 Dekstop with the following configs: Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4700 @ 2.60GHz Memory: 1 GB DDR2 667MHz RAM Video Card: Intel 82945G Express Chipset Family Intel GMA 950 Mainboard: Acer E945GM HDD: Hitachi 320 GB 7200 RPM HDD OS: Win Xp SP3 Professional + Win Vista Business x32 SP1 (Dual Boot System) Monitor: Acer V173W 17" LCD Monitor Sound System: Realtek HD Audio I had already ordered to upgrade to 2 GB Memory by adding another 1GB of RAM but the problem lies is that the one who will be installing in the system has purchased 8400GT graphic card for installation. I had kept it in hold untill unless a higher graphic card will work. So i am clarifying it out that will xfx 8600 GT 512 mb ddr3 (No ATI or any other GC in Nvidia other since 9 Series won't support) will fit into my motherboard... and if not shall i go for 8400gt which is almost old now... I mostly do Gaming on XP and do basic and rest of the work in Vista only since vista is a memory hog in gaming thats why... I will play games like: Microsoft Flight Simulator X with Acceleration Need For Speed Pro Street, Undercover TML Studios World of Subways and generally all Simulation Based Games for the moment and later on FPS Games. online games like WOW or runescape maybe not WOW but like flight simulators and not lag im leaning toward a desktop cause i have 3 laptops so i kinda want a desk top that will do that and some video editing with the soft were ill buy later (cheaper stuff)i dont want to go over $300 so whats the best computer and if not if its like $500 tell me what its called ill consider o ya and i has to be able to run to monitors then tell me what i need to run 3 monitors thanks Category more
