I like guitar and the drums stuff, especially in how they are presented in the metal style. However, sometimes the lyrics can pollute the music as the singer wants to throw those pessimistic views that are characteristic to metal out there, and it can decrease the energy that one gets from the song. Okay, so this is a really serious question. I have been told before that I am way to smart for my age, and by the way, I'm fourteen, but I'm not sure I believe it. I want some of your guy's opinions, so please don't think I'm boastful because I'm really not, I just want an honost opinion. So, I read all the time, and by that I mean continually. I read William Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Dickens, The harry potter series, Stephan king, you name it, I read it. Because of this my vocabulary is a little bigger then some of my friends. Now unlike all teenage girls, I don't go crazy over movies like Twilight or Dear John. I like more serious movies like Doubt or Clint Eastwood movies. I was taught that all movies are stories waiting to be told, and how to recognize good directing and camera angles. With music I don't listen to Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers, I like Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews Band, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and I believe all music are a passage into the artist's soul so to speak. In school I am in honors english and Biology. Read through this and please give me your HONOST opinion. It will be greatly appreciated more

hi I'm a girl, in my teens, i'm 5'4 1/2. I've been thinking about getting in to the music industry for years! and now i'm finally taking some action. since my parents have decided to support me. DON'T get me wrong. I'm not looking for some disney record or hollywood records to sign me. I don't want anything to do with disney that much, i want to be signed to REAL record label (def jam, interscope, jive, etc) I'm not TRYING or dreaming of becoming famous and sing cheesy songs like hannah montana. All i want is to be a legit real artist who can do concerts, and sing her lungs out. I mean, i've got what it takes. But i now MANY people have GOT WHAT IT TAKES. that's why i'm here for advice. I've taken singing lessons, learning to master my guitar skills, i have written a 150 songs so far. i'm going to a music camp this summer in which i will record some of my songs so yeah.. thats pretty much it. What do i do next? that's my question i'm NOT from usa. though the camp is in L.A. I travel frequently to the states but i don't live there.. so yeah. Voting Question: Why did TV/music/etc. completely fall apart after the 90's?

I was born in 1992, and grew up watching cartoons like Magic School Bus, Arthur, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and other entertaining and at least remotely educational TV shows. I also still, to this day, listen to a lot of 90's music b/c I don't like much of the recent stuff. Now kids only have stupid Disney Channel shows to watch and Hannah Montana music to listen to. I feel bad for them. What happened that made everything just suddenly get so terrible? Alright, so I'm confused about all those famous singers we all see on TV. Are they really good singers? I mean all those Disney stars that can suddenly sing, can they really? I get it with Hannah Montana but Selena Gomez? That girl named Carly or something? Hilary Duff? Come on, I've watched videos of their live performances and their voice is just way off the notes we see on the music videos. Its acceptable for a girl to like them... Girls seem to be able to listen to almost anything (except the social blacklist, like Hannah Montana, or the Jonas Brothers.... gross) Girls seem to be able to get away with stepping out of the 'norm' connotations for girls... but boys cant otherwise theyll be called gay. I shall vent my frustration of all things I hate in this world here: I HATE it when women use the word "hubby".I HATE when girls say "I love justin beiber/taylor lotner/robert patson" NO you DO NOT love him/them, they don't even know you exist, and you've never even talked to them, for all you know they could be total jerks when the paparazzi isn't around. I really hate it when girls get fake tans, or put on a ton of makeup and think they look super sexy because of it, when they just make themselves look fake, why can't they see they would look just fine without spending tons of money on a cake-mask of makeup and orange skin from the tanning booth? I hate it when guys sag or spit on the ground. There is no accomplishment here except dirtying the ground for no apparent reason and making yourself walk like a penguin, you look silly you trend-following asshat. Speaking of trends I don't like it when girls wear UGGs when it's like 90 degrees outside. There is no need for that excess warmth, and the shoes are so overrated. Not to mention when they wear Abercrombie/Hollister/American Eagle.. just trying to fit in, and it is annoying, and then they look down on other girls that don't conform to their preppy little clothing lifestyle, and call them "emo", or "goth" or whatever else they say to try to insult them for dressing differently than the bland brand named clothing that they always parade around. Most of the girls wearing these clothes also have the cake-face makeup and fake tans, just a little pattern I noticed in high school. When people like Britney Spears and Taylor Swift can last YEARS instead of become has-beens and one-hit wonders like they should be, you know...that's right. When people like Lauren Conrad and Paris Hilton, who've done NOTHING (that's right, NOTHING--just ask Denis Leary) to merit the exposure they've received, appear on magazine covers, dumb tabloids, and wasteful TV shows, you know popular entertainment has sunk and makes the 80s look like the golden age of popular entertainment with television. It is more embarrassing to be a teen and like reality TV shows than it is to be a teen and like cartoons for five-year olds (like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Sonic SatAM). You know who contributes to their undeserved fame and popularity? Mostly pre-teen and teenage girls as well as guys who are male b*tches and let their phalli do the thinking.
