Open Question: In french how would you say this date..5th may to 8th may'?
I'm having trouble with my french, to say ' on the 5th of may to the 8th of may the food and wine festival was on in Biarritz, I had the opportunity experience many different dishes including roast chicken with red wine sauce, it was delicious' does it translate to : la cuisine et le vin festival était sur le 5 mai au 8 mai à Biarritz...(?)...du poulet rôti, servi avec une sauce au vin rouge, c'était délicieux. ?? also how do you say ' i would like to live in Biarritz for a few years' ?? thank you moreOpen Question: Is it weird that I like fast food?
I mean I prefer it to "nice restaurant" food, and that seems kind of trashy but I just feel like it tastes better. Also I'm not fat I'm female 5'4 and 110 lbs. I don't eat it everyday, but when I go out for food I'd rather have burger/pizza/fries then go to some nice restaurant with wine. moreOpen Question: Help my cat. Why is she walking with her behind up and moaning?
Almost a year old. Today started to walk with her behind up on her hind legs and stomach low to the ground. Is she constipated? Eats, drinks, didn't change food, doesn't go outside, no fixed, don't think she is in heat, wines a bit when I talk to her, not playful like she use to be. Then lays on her back or side. Stoops low with behind up in air. She will come to me but won't let me touch her back end or tail. moreOpen Question: What should I serve during wedding cocktail hours?? How much food is necessary?
We are having a wedding on the beach in Tahoe. To prevent people from sitting out in the sand for a long time we are having a 'pre-ceremony' cocktail hour, and then when the ceremony will start there will be an announcement. This will not be long- just the time that people usually sit in their seats at a most weddings, waiting for the bride's hair to be perfect or whatever. After the ceremony, we will have the proper cocktail hour while we take pictures and the caterer is getting the food all set. The invitation says to arrive at 6:30, and that dinner will be served at 8-ish. The bar won't be open until after the ceremony, and we are planning on serving lemonade, iced tea, beer, wine, and a signature cocktail (an apricot bourbon drink) during the cocktail hours. I know that we should probably serve some kind of food during the cocktail hours, particularly because we are serving alcohol! But we do have a large BBQ buffet coming after that with many choices. I don't want to fill people up, and I also don't really want to spend a lot more money because we already used up our food budget on the buffet. Any ideas on how much we should serve? Also, I need good ideas on What to serve. Dinner will be bbq, but really nice, organic bbq with free-range meats. I want whatever we serve at the cocktail hour to fit in with that, more or less. I want to keep it either in the southern cooking area, perhaps Tex-Mex. Fyi- please don't suggest cheese and crackers, pigs in blankets, or chex party mix... I was considering chips and a salsa bar- kind of southwestern style salsas. But can anyone think of anything to add to that, or do you think it will be enough? moreOpen Question: My father is a cheapskate, what should I do?
I live in a town of Saumur, in Anjou (Maine-et-Loire department). I live with my father and my mother. My father is a former cooper. He worked really hard, and with the help of my mother's dot, bought one of the finest vineyards in the arrondissement, an old abbey, and several farms. Then he became a mayor, but then the government changed and he was recalled for being a Republican. Then he did more business, and bought Froidfond, a big landed estate. My mother is very loving and caring, a real saint, but my father is a cheapskate! We never buy anything all food, bread included, we have from the farms and from our mill. Even of this food, we are allowed to eat very little. We eat only spoiled fruit, drink spoiled wine, eat soiled whatever. He buys me about two outfits a year. We never heat our rooms. I get at five every morning, and work all day, there is plenty of work in a landed estate. I never minded, but then my cousin Charles (the son of my father's rich brother) came to us. My father grudged him everything, for example, he counted how many spoons of sugar Charles put into his coffee, and never allowed him more than two! He grudged him even bread. I was really embarrassed. Then we found out that Charles's father lost all his money and killed himself as a result. Charles decided to go abroad to earn some money. I heard my father boasting about how many casks of wine he sold, and found out their price - my father must be really rich! I thought we were poor, the way we lived. Yet my father refused to help Charles, and we do live like paupers, saving on everything, denying ourselves even food! What should I do? moreOpen Question: My Questions are so hard!?
Well I'm getting questions every single Friday and I wanted to know what This French phrase means "fashion mistake or blunder" I do know that it is 3 letters but I forgot what is is! Plleease help.. I also got another one...a connoisseur is a person one who understands the details, technique, or principles of an art and is competent to act as a critical judge. In other words, they are an expert in a particular field (like a connoisseur of food or wine). So, a person devoted to fashion clothing can be called a connoiseur of clothes or can also be called this one word. What is this "F" word? Thanks :) moreOpen Question: I hate my mom and Idk what to do.?
I'm 16, I have begun to realize that I have this underlying hatred for my mother. I don't think she's that bad. She takes things away just like every mom. She doesnt let me go places just like everyone elses. I dont' understand why. I do smoke bud, and ciggerettes. She doesn't allow either and its not a slap on the wrist. If i were to fail a drug test right now i've already done so many out patient programs that i also hate the councelers even though there good people. She's a hypocrit i guess i mean she drinks a couple glasses of wine a night and i have to do rehab if i smoke pot? I know this is just difference of opinions, I don't abuse pot really I don't use it to medicate i don't use it because im missing something from life. It's just really part of me something i enjoy, just like some people enjoy skateboarding or sports. It helps me sleep, relax, chill with friends, it makes things more fun. So I suppose it's not bad that she does't let me. I've done alot of other drugs and honestly feel that she drove me to them. Hiding the smell the eyes and everything about bud was frustrating and other more concealable drugs were so much more PLEASUREABLE. I really see that being where addiction lies as i don't consider my self addicted to pot. But things like ecstacy and the feeling it brings could easily proove more psychologicly habitual. I hate talking with her, looking at her, everything about her. I just don't know why anymore. She makes me miserable when shes' home i usualy just sit around doing nothing trying my best to get out of the house, but i don't have my lisence yet not till august and i rely on my dad for rides, but she says wether or not i can. She makes me go to every family thing 3 hours away or 20 hours away I hate them all, i mean familys great but I feel like i probably have a few loose screws and may have some problems with anxiety and depression i really don't care because when im with friends everythings alright smoking or not. I just don't feel that with my family. I respect my older sister, and i guerss my father, my littel sisters just a brat and i guess i just don't really have any tolerance for her forward way of thinking like a little diva but what im trying to ask is why the fuck do i hate her so much, just because she doesn't let me smoke ? \ I currently live awaiting my 18th birthday, not knowing where the fuck i'll go but it wont be here, how ill get money or anything but it just feels like even though i have a decent house always have food and a complete family I for somereason feel trapped bored alone pissed off when im home. Home is supposed to be where you feel most comfortable. Is there anyway that i can at least just disagree with my mom and not hate her? It's not like i feel thoughts of UYOU WONT LET ME DO THINGS when im around her, i just cna't stand her. I don't feel connected shes some stranger woman in my house who tries to control me.I really don't have to go to rehab. If a doctor told me the next time i hit a joint rip a bong or even buy a bag id die, i'd respectfully give up pot. I just know that I have certain things ive fucked up that i need to work on but pot isn't a distraction and it isn't the problems that i need help with. I'm glad to see a therapist ive been asking for a while and she says she will but never does. I'm also working on the job, i had gotten hired and they 'changed their mind' seeing as the turn of the year didn't proove them to be doing very well./ Not the easiest thing finding a job i can get to right after school cuz i won't always have a ride. I'm hoping that as soon as i get a job, get a car and start actualy building a life that i will feel less of this moreOpen Question: Living with le radin in Saumur, what should I do?

Before the prophet passed away he revealed Ayatul Sayf (Ayah of the Sword), the last complete Surah of the Quran dedicated to offensive Jihad in which it was said non-muslims must pay Jizyah. Imam Shaffi and others have the view it cancels many verses. Cancelling of Quran is called Naskh and is mention in 2:106 █Hanafi Fiqh scholar “Suyuti” wrote in his Fiqh book, Durr al-Manthur: “Fight those who don't believe in God nor in the Last Day [Unless they believe in the Prophet God bless him and grant him peace] nor hold what is forbidden that which God and His emissary have forbidden [e.g., wine] nor embrace the true faith [which is firm, and abrogates other faiths, i.e., the Islamic religion] from among [for distinguishing] those who were given the Book [i.e., the Jews and Christians] unless they give the head-tax [i.e., the annual taxes imposed on them] (/'an yadin/) humbly submissive, and obedient to Islam's rule.” █Hanabali scholar Ibn Taymiyyah (1263 - 1328) wrote this (translated by Rudolph peters in Jihad in Classical and Modern Islam) : “The penalties that the Sharia has introduced for those who disobey God and his Messengers of two kinds: the punishment of those who are under the sway [of an imam], both individuals and collectivities, as has been mentioned before [in the chapter on criminal law], and, secondly, the punishment of recalcitrant groups, such as those that can only be brought under the sway of the Imam by a decisive fight. That then is the jihad against the unbelievers (kuffar), the enemies of God and His Messenger. For whoever has heard the summons of the Messenger of God, Peace be upon him, and has not responded to it must be fought, "until there is no Fitnah and the religion of God's entirely" (K. 2:193, 8:39).” █Shaffi scholar Al-Ghazali (1058-1111) wrote in his book, itab al-Wagiz fi fiqh madhab al-imam al-Safi'i: “...[O]ne must go on jihad (i.e. razzias or raids) at least once a year ... one may use a catapult against them when they are in a fortress, even if among them are women and children. One may set fire to them and/or drown them. ... If a person of the ahl al-kitab [i.e. People of the Book] is enslaved, his marriage is revoked. ... One may cut down their trees. ... One must destroy their useless books. Jihadists may take as booty whatever they decide ... they may steal as much food as they need...” http://tafsir.com/default.asp?sid=2&tid=5035 █Do you agree with offensive Jihad, what are your reactions to the Fiqh of scholars? Please add this to your interesting list if you find it interesting moreOpen Question: what kind of drinks to have?

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/epcot/dining/le-cellier-steakhouse/ This is the ONLY restaurant I can find in all of the USA East Coast that claims to serve "Canadian Food" from Provinces in Canada. Le Cellier Steakhouse: Orlando area, Florida (Walt Disney Epcot Theme Park): At Le Cellier Steakhouse, feast on regional cuisine based on recipes from the provinces of Canada. Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant features succulent prime rib and filet mignon from aged corn-fed beef, and pan-seared seafood, along with its signature dish, Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup. The extensive children's menu aims to please the picky eater. Warm each meal with a fine Canadian wine, chosen from the vintages displayed in glass and wood cases surrounding the restaurant's intimate interior illuminated by ambient lighting. The dessert menu includes a chocolate "moose" with character. How Canadian is the chocolate moose? In Canada, do they actually eat Canadian cheddar cheese soup? Also how come prime rib became Canadian, what about bison? What provinces are represented here, mostly Quebec? But....putting in a Tim Hortons, for example, wouldn't cut it either. Tim Hortons is not Canadian Food necessarily, it's just Canadian owned. (Tim Hortons coffee can't be grown in Canada, coffee grows in South America) moreOpen Question: Does Panda Express cook dishes with wine in them?
the question is pretty straight-forward. it is just that when my friend asked the person who serves the food if there wan wine in the dishes because she is a persistent non-alcoholic, she said that there was. i don't think she heard the question clearly or understood because no one ever mentioned wine before and my family goes there often. so is there wine in their food or not. moreOpen Question: how will white wine taste instead of chicken broth in a slow cooker?

The Odyssey Essay An epic story that inspired many authors to write their own version of it, “The Odyssey.” The mastermind of this story was Homer (Greek; W Hómēros), a blind poet, who majored in ancient Greek literature. He was said to be born around 800 B.C. and yet, we still read one of his greatest novels to this day. Odysseus, who is the main character of the story, has many obstacles to overcome. But luckily, his courage helps him find his way home. Without Odysseus’s courage, he would’t have been able to surpass the Cyclopes. Once he arrived to the Island of Cyclopes, he and his men scattered around the island looking for anything that seemed suspicious, and they came across one of the Cyclops’s cave. They commandeered the cave and ate the Cyclops’s cheese and drank his fine wine. Once the Cyclops came back, he asked what Odysseus’s name was and he responded by saying “My name is Nohbody: mother, father, and friends, everyone calls me Nohbody” (p.1118). After they’re done talking for a while, Odysseus and his men offer the Cyclops some wine to get him drunk and to fall asleep. Once the Cyclops is sleeping, Odysseus spots a tree in the back of the cave and gets an idea. They cut the tree into a 6-foot log and sharpen one of the ends and put it over fire so that the spear will harden. Once that is done, they rammed the spear right into the Cyclops’s eye. He shrieks with pain and yell to his brothers saying, “Nohbody has hurt me!” His brothers just ignore him since he said that nobody has hurt me. In the morning, the Cyclops moves the big boulder to let his sheep out to graze. When Odysseus sees him move the rock, he ties his men on the bottom of the sheep’s so the Cyclops would feel nothing but the sheep. O-man’s courage is what keeps him and some of his men alive. With his courage he is able to do the difficult task of sacrificing a few to save many. His courage helps him complete his task against the Cyclops; if he would’ve made one mistake- it would’ve killed everyone. Seduced by the beautiful goddess, Calypso, Odysseus still retains his courage. Calypso takes Odysseus and strengthens him again by bathing, food, and fresh water. While Odysseus is there, Calypso develops a strong feeling towards him and offers him immortality and says, “You would stay here, and guard this house, and be immortal- though you wanted her forever, that bride for whom you pine each day”(p.1109), but he refuses and picks Penelope, his wife, over her. Zeus sends Hermes to request Calypso to relinquish Odysseus because he is destined to go back home to his family and friends and Ithaca. Calypso informs Odysseus that there is dry driftwood in a cave on the other side of the island. He begins making a raft and sets sail toward Ithaca. When Odysseus came back to Ithaca, problems still awaited him. He had the courage to see many men trying to take his place as the King of Ithaca and the husband of Penelope. Before Odysseus came back, Penelope proposed a contest that if you could string Odysseus’s bow and shoot it through 12 rings, you would get to marry her. Once all the suitors could’t string the bow, Odysseus asked if he could try, the suitors said no but Penelope said yes. Odysseus strung the bow and shot the arrow through the 12 rings. After he shot the arrow through the 12 rings, he started to shoot the suitors, killing them all with the help of his son, Telemachus. “So he ran- ran from the tables to his father’s side and halted, panting, saying: “Father let me bring you a shield and spear, a pair of spears, a helmet. I can arm on the run of myself”(p.1160). In conclusion, Odysseus has shown that his courage has helped him through many difficult obstacles like outsmarting the Cyclops, staying with Calypso for 10 years and still have feelings for his wife and defeating 100 suitors with his son on his side the whole time. moreResolved Question: Okay So I want to know if these foods are healthy..I asked this in th diet section but they weren't helpful?
Okay so I am in college and its hard to eat healthy...but I try my best considering everything. I am able to keep some stuff in my dorm but its not ideal. So I am a very rigid person and stick to this list. Please rate each item...like don't just say "u have a good list" or "no ur list is bad" like specific...critique. I will pick a best answer to the person who gives me the most feedback... Fruits: green/red apples, red grapes, clementines, plums, fresh pineapple, strawberries, fresh blueberries Vegetables: lettuce, tomatoes, carrot sticks, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, red pepper slices, yellow pepper slices, pickles, corn, dining hall vegetable soup and dining hall vegetable-tomato soup, salsa Proteins: tuna (drained in water), hard boiled eggs, smoked fat free turkey lunch meat, dining hall baked chicken (w/o skin), peanut butter-it's not the natural kind because they don't have the natural kind...unfortunately, tofu burgers (90 calories) Carbohydrates: whole wheat 100 calorie bread-sugar free, oats and honey granola bars, soy crisps, cliff bars, oatmeal Condiments:low fat olive oil based mayo, salt, mustard, diet ice tea, hot brewed tea (w/ equal), red wine vinegar for salad like if you noticed I don't eat anything with high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oil- the one thing I know is bad is the peanut butter and granola bars-since they have sugar in them but at home I never eat them...but is it okay to have them at school? please be honest...be nice...and informative...:)Yeah..I know the fruits and veggies are good..but the cafeteria food I mean...the corn, the pineapple-some people say they're bad...and the PB, turkey, chicken, the carbs...I know whole wheat bread is good but the others??? moreResolved Question: Which venue would you choose?
I think my fiance and I have narrowed our wedding venues down to two locations. I love each of them equally and both are pretty much the same price. If this were your wedding, which would you choose? Option 1. A banquet facility located in a country club 30 minutes to 1 hour away from ourselves and all of our guests. The ceremony will be held on a pretty patio attached to the banquet room. The patio has a retractable awning that can be pulled out for less than perfect weather (getting married at the end of May). The cocktail hour will be on a separate are of the patio and the reception will be in the banquet hall. The package will cost $55 per person (including tax & gratuity): 5 hours of Limited Open Bar. Champagne station adorned with fresh strawberries. Hor Dourves: Fruit & Veggie Platter International Cheese and Crackers Cheese Fondue and French Baguettes 6 Butler Passed Hor Dourves Champagne Toast The Carving Station (2 choices - chef attended): Roast Vermont turkey Roasted Top Sirloin Pasta Station (chef attended): Tortellini alfredo with grilled chicken. Tuscan grilled vegetable with penne in a rosa sauce. Main Buffet: Seafood Newburg Chicken Marsala Beef Bourguignon Potatoes au gratin, Garden fresh vegetables Wine service with dinner Wedding Cake Coffee and decaf coffee or tea will be served Option 2: An old chocolate factory that has since been turned into a restaurant and a banquet facility that is located 10 minutes from us and no more than a 20 minute drive for everyone else. The banquet facility is modeled after a speakeasy. It has an large octagon oak bar, exposed brick & a life size fire place. They have a courtyard at the venue that could potentially be used for a ceremony but theres a bar right in the middle of it. While some guests may find that awesome, I would prefer no-one be chugging a beer in my ceremony photos. The other option for the ceremony if we went with this location would be a botanical gardens type of place nearby (free to use they just ask for a donation). The only problem with the gardens is that its semi private and the date that we are planning to get married (memorial day weekend) is a pretty big tourist time in my area. I'm sure they would respect our space and all but then again... who knows! I may end up wishing I got married next to the Heineken sign (its not really that close). Anyways, this reception would cost us $58 per person (including tax & gratuity): 5 hour limited open bar Hor Dourves: Vegetable and dip display Cheese and cracker display Mini Chicken Cordon Blue Cheese Ravioli or Mini Quiche (havent decided on this last one yet) Caesar Salad Garlic Mashed Potatoes Vegetable Medley Assorted Dinner Rolls & Butter Chicken Marsala Stuffed Fillet of Sole Chicken and Broccoli Penne in a White Wine Garlic Sauce Carving Station: Roast Sirloin of Beef Cookies & Brownies (none of our guests are vegetarians, and yes.. I know that for a fact) If we went with option 2, I think I would like to try a 1920's/chocolate theme to kind of coincide with the factory and speakeasy feel. With option 1, it would probably just be your average wedding, which is totally fine too. The additions that we will have to pay are pretty much the same for both places. When it comes down to it, both weddings will cost almost the same amount, so price doesn't really have to be a factor. All things considered (distance, price, food, atmosphere, etc), which would you choose if you were me? Thanks for the help!Courtney: Out of curiosity, what aspects are questionable in option 2? moreVoting Question: Logistical question about an unorthodox wedding... second attempt...?
Ok, I am rephrasing this question, because some people misunderstood... The reception will be on a beachfront patio on Lake Tahoe. The trouble is- the patio will only comfortably seat 90 people, and we have 120 coming, including the wedding party (which is 16 people). They won't let us expand the dance flooring onto the beach at all because it's a public beach. We really only need the space during dinner service, because after that we are removing some of the banquet tables and adding cocktail tables. I do NOT want to have the reception indoors, as the ballroom is outdated and frankly, ugly. Would it be ridiculous to have the 'head table' be a big white beach blanket and beach chairs right next to the patio? The wedding party and some of our younger cousins and friends would all sit out in the chairs... We have already spoken to some of them who like the idea, and are on board to sit in beach chairs. My grandma saw my post on facebook and practically demanded that she get a seat in the sand! Now, before you go all crazy- consider that we are serving Texas BBQ and playing a lot of classic rock. We are serving lots of bourbon cocktails with funny white trash names and having an extensive beer 'buffet'. Also, we'll have a game of horseshoes set up while others dance. It's not your typical wedding, but it is still going to be very nice, with organic food and good wine. So it's not that I'm trashy and can't afford seats for everyone...I just want everyone outside on the patio. If some of the tables have to go inside, then we will have to decorate the entire hideous ballroom, and I really do not want to do that. At the same time, I don't want to offend any old people. Do you think they'll be weirded out by us not being at proper tables? I know old people get all weird about wedding ettiquette.. Also- there are definitely going to be 110 people at least, 120 at max. There will be no children (we are having them all babysat at the hotel so their parents can enjoy). Also, we are renting lots of outdoor heaters and buying a bunch of blankets that match the colors so that nobody will be cold. So, no one will want to be inside. Thanks for your time, and if you have a genius (or just good) idea, please let me know! If you just don't like our 'theme', please keep it to yourself- I don't care. moreVoting Question: I want to make a seafood pasta sauce- what to do with these ingredients? 10pts towards best answer!?
I have a 7 oz package of crab & shrimp classic mix, and my intention is to make a seafood alfredo sauce. I have all types of pasta, so that is not the issue. The ingredients I have to work with are....abundant! I want to make just a serving for 1 or 2 tonight....What I have is a jar of alfredo sauce (that I want as my base, and I will add my seafood medley), tons of spices (cayenne pepper, multiple hot sauces, all of the must haves pn a spice rack, such as basil, dill seed, marjoram, etc, red & white wine vinegar, asian sauces, lime + lemon juices...). I love to cook but so often I make so much food with my experiments and never eat it, so I am looking for ideas that have been tried and true, but i'll probably add my own twist anyways, and if you add the amt of ingredients use, please keep 1 or 2 serving size in mind. Thank you so much! I look forward to your tasty answers!!!!!!!And of course I have onions and garlic and such! moreVoting Question: Im having a 'white trash meets elegant' wedding. It's not your typical wedding, but it is still going to be very nice, with organic food and good wine. So it's not that I'm trashy...I just want everyone outside on the patio. I just don't want to offend any old people. Do you think they'll be weirded out by it? I know old people get all weird about wedding ettiquette.. moreResolved Question: A question about hostessing. What would you do if...?
Ok, so let me begin this by saying I don't know if I've ever really had a party- sad, isn't it? I'm 26, and I don't know a lot of people in the city where I live so I kind of rely on my boyfriend for my social life. A few months ago I moved into a new apartment and was going to throw a housewarming party but it never really happened. My boyfriend went around telling a lot of people we knew (mostly people he knew that I knew through him) that I was going to host said party and then they started asking about it. Well after so many months had passed, I thought it was a little late for a housewarming party, but figured it would do us all good to just get together. So I told him to invite anyone he wanted over the weekend after Valentine's Day- this weekend coming up. He invited his best friend and his wife, a friend of mine, and a friend of his he knows from school. So far I think that's all. Well I was thinking he was going to be off work on Saturday, and that this would happen around 6 or 7. AFTER he invites all these people he informs me that he has to be at a school function in the morning on Saturday and has to work and close Saturday night, and won't be home until 9:30-10. We didn't really tell them a time, but my concern is that they won't want to come this late. I mean, 10 isn't that late really, but it is late if you have to get up and go to work the next day or whatever. So I'm either going to be stuck doing this by myself so it can be earlier or much later than I wanted it to be so he can be there too. Well, my apartment is fairly open and not too small for a one bedroom, but I only have one couch. And a very small TV. The only other chairs I have are 4 wooden chairs that go to my kitchen table. When I got upset with him about the information he was telling me he was like, "well this is your thing. Do you expect me to go invite all the friends and plan the party?" I thought that was a little rude and uncalled for. I obviously do not expect him to do that, but we have been together for 3 years! Even though the party is at my apartment, we are inviting mutual friends and I kind of thought it would be *our* party. Not where he just invites his friends over then leaves me to do all the work. So I'm mad at him, because I feel like he has no intention of helping with this, and he thinks I'm dumping it on him. Then, I'm kind of in the dark about what to do. I don't want everybody to just be bored out of their minds over here. I was thinking about buying a game, like Cranium, and getting some beer and maybe some Smirnoff or something. I also have a couple bottles of wine. I was also going to pick up a couple of pizzas. I have some speakers, so I can hook up some music, I guess, but really I just feel totally in the dark about this. I mean yes, it's just some friends coming over to hang out. But I still want it to be fun. We will drink but I don't want it to be the main focus. Any ideas? Thoughts on entertainment, seating, food, beverages, or the boyfriend situation would be greatly appreciated. Serious answers only please. moreVoting Question: Can I live off of PB&Js, eggs, tuna and "Emergen-C" vitamin packets?
I'm a college student. My main foods are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, eggs, plain cans of tuna and vitamins. Occasional beers/wine also. I get regular exercise. On a scale of 1 (dead in a month) to 10 (live to 100 years old) how healthy is this diet? Why? Thank you! moreResolved Question: How can I make my new kitten adjust better?
I am going to rephrase my question due to all of the rude answers saying I am stupid, I have no idea what i'm doing, etc. My kitten is 8 weeks old, a baby, she just came home from the animal shelter yesterday. The people at the shelter advised us to keep her away from my older cat, in which case she is N-O-T allowed to run around the house when we are not home. Her getting into everything is NOT the problem. Since she is a new kitten, I don't want her roaming around my room unsupervised while I am sleeping. We got a HUGE dog cage, that housed my +80lb collie while she was alive, so we put her food, water, toys (that she can't choke on!) and her tiny, TINY, litter box in it. She will be okay for awhile but she woke me up at 4am wining because she wanted out to play, i'm sure you can realize that this was a problem since I had to get up for school. WHAT I AM asking is: Is there a better way to get her through the night without me worrying about her and without her crying because she wants out? The cage, like I said, housed an +80lb Collie DOG, so she is not, by ANY means cramped. Does this clarify my question?Thank you so much for YOUR resposes, you all were MUCH more helpful! moreVoting Question: What is your opinion? Diet/Fitness?

I just don't get it..... Joke--Did you ever wonder how yodeling began? How yodeling began Have you ever wondered where and how yodeling began? Many years ago a man was traveling through the mountains of Switzerland. Nightfall was rapidly approaching and he had nowhere to sleep. He went up to a farmhouse and asked the farmer if he could spend the night. The farmer told him that he could sleep in the barn. As the story goes, the farmer's daughter asked her father, 'Who is that man going into the barn?' 'That fellow is traveling through,' said the farmer. 'and needs a place to stay for the night, so, I told him he could sleep in the barn.' The daughter said, 'Perhaps he is hungry.' So she prepared him a plate of food and took it out to the barn. About an hour later the daughter returned, her clothing disheveled and straw in her hair. Straight up to bed she went. The farmer's wife was very observant. She then suggested that perhaps the man was thirsty. So she fetched a bottle of wine, took it out to the barn, and she too did not return for an hour. Her clothing was askew, her blouse buttoned incorrectly. She also headed straight to bed. The next morning at sunrise the man in the barn got up and continued on his journey, waving to the farmer as he left. When the daughter awoke and learned the visitor was gone she burst into tears. 'How could he leave without even saying goodbye?,' she cried. 'We made such passionate love last night!' 'What?', shouted the father, as he angrily ran out of the house looking for the man who by now was halfway up the mountain. The farmer screamed up at him, 'I'm going to get you! You had sex with my daughter!' The man looked back down from the mountainside, cupped his hand next to his mouth, and yelled out..... I'm doing a Home Economics Journal for my Leaving Cert, and one of the assignments is to do with aeration and its culinary applications, i.e. range of dishes that use the method of aeration (trapping air into ingredients). I tried to search for websites myself, but all I could find are websites that only explain about aeration in wine, beer, soil etc, but not in food! So can anyone find good websites where I can find a lot of recipes for aeration (and how they use aeration with the ingredients)? moreResolved Question: **Am I caught in a players web????? Help! My husband smells horrible. I can't sleep at night b/c his stench wakes me up. We have tried so many things, we cannot find the culprit. I'm pregnant, so I know my sense of smell is heightened due to hormones, but I'm 8 months now, and from what I read, my hormones should be easing up, yet his stench isn't. We have tried eliminating spicy food from our diet and that helped, but he can't even enjoy a glass of wine or a beer anymore b/c whatever is in those triggers his stench. Garlic and Onions are another thing we had to eliminate from our cooking. He takes up to 3 showers a day, but he still smells. He is very oily and sweats at night. We have tried a TON of different manly body washes and I even have his scrubbing his body w/a loofah, hoping it opens up his pores. But I can't tolerate a lot of those perfumes so that doesn't help. She asked the reset of us to to chip in a little bit of money for the food & wine since we did not bring anything. We felt this was VERY VERY rude & 2 people wouldn't even eat that's how insulted we were. She didn't want her one friend to have to spend $15.00 so she wanted us to give her friend a little bit of money. We felt this was completely unjust. ok so i bought some baby prunes for my 7 month old because hes having a little trouble pooping. its the stage 2 so its like 4 oz i think. as i was feeding it to him, i smelled something really sweet, but i putit off. but when it was about 3/4 of the way gone, i started thinking i could smell wine. i handed it to my husband to see if he thought it smelled like wine too. he said maybe im not sure. now i like wine, so i know what wine smells like. so i look at the package, and i had accidently bought prunes mixed with apples. the date is good. doesnt expire til july 2010. i just bought it. my son is doing good. my husband thinks its jsut the way the food smells mixed together. has anyone else fed their kids this. to me it smells like the way fermented fruit does, but then again ive never smelled prunes and apples mixed before so i dont know if thats what its supposed to smell like. i dont even know what prunes smell like as i dont like them so i never buy them, so if they smell like wine, i dont know that either. am i worrying over nothing? or does anyone else think something is off? moreResolved Question: What is your opinion of this proposed bill: A guide to welfare recipients?
PHOENIX -- The way Frank Antenori sees it, you shouldn't be smoking or drinking if the government is helping pay for your food or health care. And you shouldn't be buying an expensive TV or car, shouldn't have a cell phone unless it's your only phone and shouldn't have cable TV with HBO or Showtime. The Tucson Republican is sponsoring legislation to make public assistance off limits to those who do not comply. As crafted, HB 2770 would be pretty much self-enforcing. Welfare recipients would have to sign an affidavit each time they go through eligibility screening promising to live within the rules. Antenori said, though, this is just the first step. He wants the Department of Economic Security to craft rules to actually enforce the restrictions. But that doesn't mean welfare recipients can ignore the requirements in the interim. Antenori said he foresees a system where people report those they see at the grocery store using food stamps and then pulling out cash for that bottle of wine or pack of cigarettes. That would mean a single bottle of beer could cost a family its food stamps, free health care and any other welfare benefits. Antenori said he has no problem with that Does anyone have a logical argument against this proposed bill? moreResolved Question: Should the following foods/drinks be banned in the UK?

These foods cause cancer and this is backed by SCIENCE! moreResolved Question: Is there decay in heaven?
Someone commented ""I doubt there's any decay, since decay is a product of the fall. And the world will be perfect in heaven." What is decay exactly? Skin constantly dies and is renewed. Is skin somehow unnatural in heaven such that the cells on the outside are actually still alive, unlike here on earth? This gets into a question about the "Banquet" they talk about... At the banquet, presumably there is food and wine. Are we saying that the alcohol in the wine somehow will not attack and kill stomach and esophogas cells on the way down? Will the food eaten in heaven not decay through the digestive processes and enrich the body? Will the intestines not leach out the water and expel what is left over into the bowels? Will the kidneys not clean the blood any longer? By all answers that anyone has ever given to me on these questions the only thing I can assume is no...You don't shed dead skin cells. Food appears before you with no one to serve it to you. When you eat the food at the banquet it simply goes into your mouth and disappears and is not digested, because there is no mention of bathrooms in the mansions. In heaven, you dwell in mansions, but why? You dwell in dwellings to protect you from the elements - rain, wind, sun, wild animals. Yet everyone I have talked to says that the lion lies down with the lamb, so there is no wildness in heaven. There are no storm sewers in heaven, because there is no rain or if there is rain, it is absorbed into the soil, because the only lake in the other world is a lake of fire. There are greater and lesser people in heaven... the prophets for example kind of run things. Therefore there is a political system of hierarchical government god - jesus - mary - adam, noah, moses - jonah and the lesser prophets... and I guess the saints come next and then after that, who knows - a lot of water under the bridge and eventually regular people like me. Thats enough for this question :) moreVoting Question: Chemical or Physical Changes?

I am a Caucasian woman with no history of food allergy (except for garlic). I used to drink a fair amount in college, but over the last few years I have built up an increasing intolerance to alcohol of all kinds. I can't drink a full serving of wine, beer or booze before I start to feel really queasy and I break out in a PROFUSE all-body cold sweat. I have completed 6K runs sweating less than I did tonight after 1/2 of a black Russian. What's going on? Am I allergic? Is this a sign of some other problem?Stacy-Thanks for your input. I have actually been experiencing some other strange symptoms. Is your Mom's hypoglycemia tied to diabetes (if so, which kind?) or does she have some other condition? moreVoting Question: Why am \i gaining weight?
