My grandparents are having an anniversary next weekend. My family has arranged for cabins to be rented for all of our family to go and spend the weekend together. We're all cooking out one night as part of the weekend fun, but in addition the kids (my parents and my cousin's parents) are putting together a basket with things like gift cards and a bottle of wine, etc., etc.. My close friend/colleague is currently going through a divorce. Needless to say, she is devastated and I feel so bad for her. One of my colleagues suggested we put together a "Divorce Break-Up" gift basket (of course we wouldn't call it that) to cheer her up. We were thinking about putting bath salts, a bottle of wine, a manicure/pedicure gift certificate, slippers, chocolate, etc. in it. What other items should we include? Any suggestions would be truly appreciated! Thank you. :) moreResolved Question: Please help with V-day gift- Alcohol related?

Likes (please ignore my spelling): 1. gluek honey bock 2. Spiced ron diaz 3. Budweiser( not sure what kind) 4. Barenjager honey liqueuer Hates 1. My boyfriend has known a man his entire life named Will. Will owns a furniture store, and gave us a killer deal on a new bed. I mean... he hooked us up good. He was very generous, and helped us out a lot. He is an older man, and I'd like to send him a thank you gift for his generosity. What would be appropriate? No wine, nothing like that. We still go to church with him, and so does my boyfriends parents. A fruit basket maybe? No flowers, like I said.. he's an older man. I have been asked to buy the "farewell" gift for one of my co-workers. I've worked at that company for a little over a year & tho I like this person I don't know her that well. I do know that since I started she's been temporarily laid off once before but this time she's been "permanently" laid off. We're all very angry about this. Anyway no one really has suggestions at the office, we're losing 3 other employees in the same week so I think everyone is too emotional to give me a suggestion. I was thinking of giving her a gift basket made up with some candles, nice teas, spa/bath stuff & a few little wines. Is this kind of thing appropriate? My motivation is to give her something that will help her relax and pamper herself. Anyone else have any suggestions? PS- this present will be opened in front of everyone (no pressure right) and most of the staff has chipped in so its not all my money but I'm pitching in a bit extra to make it special. moreResolved Question: What should we put in a gift basket for a raffle?
We will be selling tickets for a raffle and two winners will each receive a gift basket. Since the winners could be anybody, we're not sure what to put in the gift baskets. For Christmas I'm getting my gf a gift basket theme thing based on places she has connections to, I think i have some good main stuff but I definitely need some more small stuff to fill out the gift basket. My question: Do you think this a good enough gift from a boyfriend of about 6 months or do I need more 'big' stuff in this basket. Is this a good idea in general or should I scrap it and go another way? What little stuff can I throw in her to fill out the gift basket? Here's the main stuff I have so far: 1. A bottle of California Wine (because shes originally from the Bay Area in Cali, not far from wine country), 2. A box of her favorite Taiwanese food (these little meat/bread rolls) from her mother's hometown (her parents are from Taiwan) 3. A small framed poster of Paris with pink as its main color, and theres a close up of a girls high heeled shoes in it. Hard to explain, but Paris is her favorite city and she loves shoes (so does every girl, but she REALLY does). 4. She also loves Vegas, so I got her another framed poster of the famous Vegas sign (she has nothing on her walls in her apt so these posters are functional too). This poster is big, so it'll be separate from the actual 'basket'. The only other place I was thinking about using is Japan because shes sort of into the culture (not like the anime stuff or anything though). moreResolved Question: What are some ideas of baskets I could put together for Christmas gifts?
I need about 5 different baskets & I want them all to have a different theme. For my best friend & her boyfriend, I was thinking a 'movie night' theme: a bottle of wine, a few buckets of popcorn, a few boxes of candy & a movie i know they both like. For my cousin & her husband, I was thinking of a 'breakfast' theme: putting homemade dry pancake mix in a jar & putting a tag on it that says what it is & 'Just Add Water' & doing the same thing for biscuits & gravy..all breakfast things. Does anyone have any other ideas? I need one for my Mom & Stepfather- they enjoy going to the beach, they have a small beach house, they like grilling food & cooking, going out to eat. I need one for my Aunt & Uncle- I'm not sure of a theme for they're although I do know that my uncle really likes Halloween & Mickey Mouse & my Aunt likes lighthouses & snow globes (i think lol) And I want to have two extra baskets on hand just in case I get an unexpected gift from someone. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!! moreVoting Question: Where Can I Buy Wine Gift Baskets?

$12,500 is the total, honeymoon included. This is my plan: PLATINUM PACKAGE 80 guests $6,247.74 (tax and service included) Ballroom (5.5 hr event time + 2.5hr setup) (I have no idea why they give so much time) Access to Cocktail Area / Game Room Access to Patio & Gazebo Area / Ceremony Site Access to Bridal Suite 1 Security Officer (I am keeping him/her for personal reasons) Banquet Chairs and Round Banquet Tables Chair Cover with Sash (color of choice) Table Cover with Overlay (color of choice) Skirted Head, Cake, Gift, and Registration Table Centerpiece – Glass Candle Holder on Mirror (she is upgrading it for free!) Ceiling Drapery Décor China, Glassware, and Flatware Linen Napkins (standard selection) Professional Bussing Staff Full Service Setup and Cleanup Dinner Buffet with Menu Option A Entrée (choice of 1) Starch Side Dish (choice of 1) Vegetable Side Dish (choice of 1) Salad (choice of 1) Rolls and Croissants / Tortillas Water with Ice Tea or Fruit Punch They are also setting up the outside area for guests who smoke, and giving me a deal of $150 for a fruit tree or platter and a small chocolate fountain. The venue also comes with a pool table and tvs for entertainment while we're taking pictures since it is all indoors. Now, am I missing anything from below? We're not using a limo, please don't suggest one lol $680 dress, veil, tiara, petticoat, and undergarments $350 flowers (just six attendants total for us and then our moms, his dad, and my grandparents) $100 invitations, place cards, tags (I'm getting printing for free) $50 candy bag favors (tulle bags with M&Ms in our colors, no print) $450 wine (3-4 bottles per table, it's not a sit down dinner) $300 cakes (friend is doing them for $1/slice, cutting is $1/person) $40 ‘wishing’ tree (manzanita branches and tags for wishes) $200 bride/groom pampering (nails, hair, makeup and his haircut and whatnot) $30 shoes (I'm a good shoe shopper) $950 photography (this includes 5-6 hrs, and a CD, and I think bridals and engagements as well) $275 minister (eh, I'm trying to get a friend to do this) $315 wedding party gifts (once again, small WP) $30 bridal jewelry (found a great set at DBs) $60 groom’s accessories (shoes, and whatnot) $30 postage $70 knife/cake serving set, flutes, guestbook (buying online) $50 flower girl basket and ring bearer pillow $2,500 honeymoon (not sure about this yet) We may actually have more room to save now that we're waiting a couple more weeks than planned. So does this look okay for a budget? Am I missing anything? = $12,727.74 $249.74 over budget!Janice are you high? $950 for a photographer is not bad? I did WORST case scenario here. Least amount saved, with the most I would pay towards each thing. I'm not saying we want to spend that much at all. It's just a figure! I'm $250 over, but we have two more weeks to save now, and we might have raises or bonuses before that time. We might only spend $200 on flowers or $500 on a photographer. It's just an estimate. I wanted to know if I left anything off? The honeymoon is big because we are going to an island. I keep hearing that I am spending too much on the reception and not enough on the honeymoon and now here is the opposite?! We are also staying in an upscale hotel in a large city the night of the wedding. Sooooo...Oh! My friend is going to DJ, they are also setting the mood lights and colors to auto so we can enjoy something without having to pay $75.Well some of the pricing I gave you I already had in the total. Sorry if I confused you. I've gone over it three times and I am not wrong there. I love the tips. I will definitely try to do as much myself. I am going to serve one glass per person for dinner (wine) great suggestion! I just need to find a white and red as an option maybe. Depends on the dinner I assume. Red is an aquired taste, but I enjoy it myself. As I said, this is just to get an idea. I'd love to spend less on each item. I just broke it down using my own judgement instead of percentages. They didn't work for me considering the bulk of things is already included in the package. I am going to have a small rehearsal hopefully. Probably have my family make dinner since they are dying to make dinner for the wedding, they can do this instead and I would save a lot of money have it at someone's home. Thanks again!Oh and to the answerer about the postage, I'm assuming I live in a more expensive area than you. The only other place cheaper (and decent - ie not a living room in a house or a church) was $3,300 NOTHING included. Just to rent! I am not sure about attaching postage yet, but at any rate, my #'s include dates for each person and some are large families. I'm not getting personalized M&Ms, no way. The tulle bags are maybe 20 cents each. I'm not filling them to the brim either. I want to offer something edible without hassle, but without overdoing it. I hear a lot of favors get left. I never noticed favors myself. A dinner with friends is enough for me and most the people I associate with feel the same. moreVoting Question: Ideas for Christmas gift baskets with homemade liqueurs?
So my girlfriend and I made some homemade limoncello awhile back just to make it, and it was pretty darn good. One of friends and I couldn't stop drinking it on my birthday. It tasted like an expensive liquor and you couldn't taste that strong bite from the vodka. It's cheap and easy. We found some recipes to do a Berry Cordial, which is done in a similar fashion, and also a coffee liquor. We want to make some gift basket ideas, where we add chocolates, homemade jams, nuts and other things. Some will have the homemade liquor in small bottles, and packaged with a bottle of wine, or champagne... the others will be packaged in wine bottles, and will be the main component of the gift. SO, what are some ideas to put in these gift baskets? so far we said we can have biscotti and chocolates with the coffee flavored one. Homemade jam (small jars) with the berry one... and maybe an Italian themed gift basket with the limoncello. Please give me ideas of what to put in the baskets. Thanks moreResolved Question: present for a maths tutor?
My maths and chemistry tutor is a family friend. He's tutored me in maths for 4 years and chem for 1 year, and has been doing it for free. If I'd been paying it would've cost just over $10,000. I've finished school now and want to get him a present, but I can't think of anything. The cost doesn't bother me as long as it's not 'cheap.' Also I'd like it to be something more than a bottle of nice wine or a food/chocolate gift basket. He also gets alot of pens and ties form people, so I will stay clear of them. My boyfriend is leaving the job that he's had for the past 5 years, since he found a better gig. He was the only employee that reported to his supervisor (a female, older & married) and they developed a very casual friendly working relationship, never any hostility etc. So when he broke the news she became very sad and kept thinking that she was a bad boss which made him want to leave. So he wants to send her a gift of some sort, to arrive on the first Monday morning which he is no longer there. Which is a better gift idea for my 26 yr old fiance? Option 1- We're moving in together soon. He's been talking about wanting to decorate with antique camera, film reels. (He loves movies and is psyched to decorate the new place.) I saw a cool antique film projector and thought I could buy the first item for his collection and "our" place. As well as make a basket of movie goodies and an invitation to a romantic dinner/movie night. (Only concern is since h hasnt started collecting antiques yet-- what if he changes his mind?) Or Option 2- make a gift basket for him. He has been stressed lately and I wanted to make up a basket for relaxation-- a t-shirt of his favorite band, lounge pants, bottle of wine and an invitation for me to cook him a romantic dinner, men's shampoo, his favorite candies, coupon for a massage, etc. What do you think he'd like better? moreResolved Question: Guys-- I need your opinions?

I make bath bombs, salts, scrubs, bubbles, masks, oils, and more. I will also sell gift baskets that include several of my spa products and a bottle of champagne, wine, or sparkling cider with a hand etched champagne or wine glass. I'd like the name to have an elegant, French-like flair. Think along the lines of Luxury or Luxe. moreResolved Question: Do you think he's just being nice because I'm a client?
Story: He is my realtor, obviously. Has always been VERY professional, until i started joking with him. He showed me homes last week, he told me I looked really nice that day, I told him he had beautiful eyes. It was a little awkward. Then he scolded me for smoking which I thought was funny and weird. Turns out he's a smoker too, go figure. Anyway, we went to lunch the other day because I brought him a gift basket to apologize for something my mother did (long story), so we went next door to his office and got pizza. We talked for like an hour and a half about really random stuff (abortion, our families, insomnia, evolution, children, etc.) stuff you would normally talk to close friends about. He also offered to fix me up with a couple of his friends. We smoked a cigarette before I left and he seemed totally relaxed and not uptight like he had prior to this.BUT when I left he shook my hand. The next day we texted and decided to quit smoking and use each other as motivation. He called me and told me he was totally in and lets do it! So anyway, all of this seems "friendly" to me, but I don't want to come across as a weirdo for thinking we're friends when we're not and he's just being nice because I'ma client. What are your guys opinions? The reason I ask is because I called him last night to ask him about the wine I gave him adn he didn't answer and ten I felt all stupid because maybe he doesn't want to be friends. He has a girlfriend btw, so that kind of adds to it.And yes I know tis is the wrong section but this is my comfort zone!Oh I gguess I should clarify. My question is do you think he wants to be friends or do you think he's just being "friendly" because he has to be? I don't want to overstep my bounds. While your first sentence is valid, why do you assume guys can't be "friends" with girls if they have girlfriends or wives? moreResolved Question: Does this sound like a good bachelorette party gift? Any more advice on it?
Im going to make a honeymoon gift basket. I was thinking of putting in some candles, chocolate sauce, lingerine, bottle of wine/or hard alcohol, lube....any more ideas on what I can put in it? moreVoting Question: Would you want to receive this gift? ...give this gift?
I'm about to move forward with my healthy gourmet gift basket business, and I'd like to know your thoughts - do I have a market? A fine selection of the following for eg.: tea, coffee, cookies, chocolates, all the pantry ingredients ie rice, beans, spices, sauces to make an Italian, Indian or Mexican meal, honey, pickles, antipasto, dried fruit, nuts - the selection goes on.... upon inspection you realize that all these goodies are all healthy -either low g.i., easy and slow to digest/process, gluten free, organic, sugar free, high protein, high fibre, low fat - whatever combo supports your healthy lifestyle. Your gift may also come with spa goodies, fruit, wine or gift certicates for in home services ie: cleaning co., mani pedi spa services, hair wash and set, btw: I'd like to offer useful containers ie: trays, boxes, bowls, hat boxes, decorative storage containers, white cake box towers and tote bags instead of the traditional baskets with the handles. What do you think? Would you want to receive this gift, give this gift? Your comments are appreciated. Thank you! Thanks so much for your answer and especially for the extra info and links - info is always good. moreVoting Question: Gift for boyfriend's parents that lent us their time share?
My boyfriend and I are leaving in a couple weeks for Mexico, because his parents have a time share and they're letting us stay at the hotel for free. They're given a certain number of points per year, and they were not planning on going this year and knew we were looking into vacations so they lent it to us. What would be an ideal gift for them as a thank you? I've already done the wine/food basket thing for previous holiday gifts. I've heard about a photo album from the trip, but that seems customary only if we were all to go on the vacation together. Any suggestions? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Ideas for husbands birthday?
OK, I would like ideas from guys and girls. Serious, OK, Men if your wife/girlfriend could do anything for you for your birthday what would it be.... Girls, what have you done for your hubby/boyfriend for his birthday that he loves.. I want romantic memorable ideas... So far have an idea of a gift basket with my husbands favourite wine, I am making chocolate covered strawberries, getting some relaxing bubble bath a candle, a bath mit as I plan to bath him by candlelight and soft music... while we have the wine and strawberries, I have his favourite movie, some chocolates (wondering which choccy would be best)... Men, what else can you suggest that you would like from your other half beside the obvious BJ. I'm thinking of adding a Tim Horten coffee card, and a scratch ticket. Women, what do you think what else can I do to make this the best birthday ever. Thank you all.... moreTop Wine Gift Basket Links
