Apparently I've had one for quite some time now, and I used the Monistat 1 egg looking insert from CVS Pharmacy. I know that probably half of you are going to tell me to go to the doctor, and that is not the answer I'm looking for. I want to know from someone who has had a yeast infection before, how long they normally take to subside? Also, can I drink wine? I know I cannot drink beer due to it's high yeast content, but I'm having a dinner party tonight and I'd love to have a few glasses of wine if I can. I have been getting mixed answers when I google that question, so I want your opinions. Please do not answer the question if you have nothing better to say than "you need to go to the doctor." The discharge isn't a fishy smell, more like a pungent, wine kind of smell. It's also very watery, sometimes it feels like I've had a little accident, and a wetspot is on my underwear. (It usually dries and leaves a light-cream color on my underwear.) There is no itching, burning, or pain anywhere. It's just very strong and unpleasant. I'm going to the doctor, but we just got new health insurance and have to wait 3 wks. This has been going on and off for months now, and the symptoms are always the same. I've tried Monostat 3 Day Ovules, maybe I need to do the entire 7 day? Neither of us have any STDs, so I'm positive it's not that. I also took a pH test (Vagisil) and my pH is normal (which would rule out a yeast infection I think?). Any suggestions to keep me from going crazy these next 3 wks? lol Thanks! moreResolved Question: My dog has a yeast ear infection-What to do?
Ok, so I took my dog to the vet last Friday, and the vet said 'she has a yeast ear infection give her benydrol and cut out all colored foods for the next 3 weeks.' Well I have, and she's been getting worse. She constantly wines, and her ear looks even worse. Is there something I can do from home, since obviously this vet has no clue what she's doing. I was thinking about taking her to a different vet, however it takes over a week to get a new dog in to see a vet where I live. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to make my dog feel better? If it helps she's a 5 month old Lab/Shepherd mix. It's already been swabbed, and it was confirmed that it's yeast. She is on a non-corn has been for a few months... moreResolved Question: Do liquor and spirits contain high concentrations of yeast?
Beer and wines contain large amounts of yeast, which can lead to outbreaks of the fungal infection commonly known as thrush.Rephrase: Thrush is typically caused by a lack of bacteria in the mouth which allows the yeast/fungi to take root. In addition to a lack bacteria, I was also told that it can be caused by an excess of yeast/fungi, such as from beer. Regardless, this isn't the issue. moreResolved Question: Yeast-- wine yeast, beer yeast, bread yeast, women's yeast... what's the difference? I've heard people say...
if you make wine, keep it far away from a bakery/ beer brewery. I heard a woman claim she can't help driving drunk because she had a yeast infection push her alcohol level over legal limits (the judge wouldn't let her off.) I gather there're different types. Please-- no wikis or websites ! I can look those up myself ! I'm trying to save time. Suppose you HAD TO make bread with wine yeast or vice versa. No other yeast available. No, don't give me places to order it! You're on another planet; all you have to work with is the one yeast, you don't know which. One yeast to rule them all & there is no other!! I'm not saying would bread be like from the bakery. Would it be edible? That's all. Could you live on it? I'm not saying would the beer/wine be as good as at the local pub. Could you distill alcohol from it to use as fuel? That's all. Do women have to be careful around the bread/ beer/ wine yeast? How risky/dangerous is it? Thanks! want more details? Just ask! moreResolved Question: What do you call a room full of blondes that are on their periods and have yeast infections?
A wine and cheese party. moreResolved Question: Alcohol vs. candidiasis?
I'm a 25-year-old male. I'm been prescribed penicillin, 300mg po 3/d, to clear up a bacterial throat infection. I'm worried about contracting oral candidiasis during treatment as it's happened before when I've been on antibiotics. Is strong ethyl alcohol (either the drinking sort, or an alcohol-based mouthwash like Listerine), just swished around the mouth, a way to prevent this? I know that candidiasis is caused by a yeast, and that most yeast can't survive concentrated alcohol (why wine tops out at 12-14%). Most medical sites recommend abstaining from alcohol with (or to prevent) thrush. I imagine this is because when imbibed it breaks down easily into sugars that only feed the problem? And if I don't actually metabolize (i.e. drink), it's really the best protection I can get without another prescription or an OTC antifungal... right? I'm looking for a semi-professional opinion as I've done as much research as an amateur hack like me can do. Thanks for your help!P.S. probiotic food (yogourt, etc). is the common solution, and is already on the list as soon as I can go get some. moreResolved Question: chapped @$$ literaly?
